Good morning my crafty WOYWW friends! For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

I didn’t continue on the page I was coloring last week. I will get to it but with coloring, I tend to jump around a bit. I used to get worked up if I didn’t finish one page before starting another but I find that I am in a different mood each time I sit down to color and since right now I am itching to get into my garden I thought I would color flowers in another book. This book is called In My Garden and it’s illustrated by Jean Sanders.
Yesterday I decided to find a cutfile to create some cute spring decor in my craft room. I found this cute cherry blossom lantern cutfile. I had to dig thru and find some vellum in my paper stash to cut the sheets that would go behind the flowers. I decided to go with this bright fuschia colored paper to cut the base.
I can put electric votives in them at night for a pretty effect. But for now, I just like them as is and I decided to put them on my gallery wall.
One of my dear friends is coming to visit today so I won’t be able to visit all of your desks today but I will visit over the next few days.
Have a crafty day!

Update on last weeks’ craft project – the watercolored postcard. I finished it and still haven’t mailed it off to my friend. I am pleased with it and will definitely be using the Inktense to color more of those postcards. You can see the finished postcard below. I like how vibrant the colors became once activated. I am pleased to say there was no warping or bleeding through so the postcard is perfectly useable.
Ok, I am off to continue on this night sky and then to peek at your desks. Last week, I saw so many pretty and inspiring art. Thank you for sharing.
First thing I did was create a little swatch on a scrap paper (postcard I didn’t like much) to see how the colors looked once activated. The way these marvelous pencils work is you can color with them like a normal colored pencil but when you add water (activate) they can blend and move on the paper like watercolors and the color pops. The color before activation is totally different.
So I am using my water brush and a paper towel to dab off excess. I hope to finish this one this morning so I can use it to send to a friend later this week.
I also bought Ranger’s Multi Medium Matte glue and this precision tip container that I saw on a YouTuber’s channel. For those of you that use Glossy Accents, you will appreciate this precision tip. I don’t know how many times the glue clogged the tip and I couldn’t get the blasted stuff out. So I quickly replaced the tip of the Multi-Medium Matte with the precision tip and voila – problem solved! So I will be buying another for my glossy accents.
When it comes to craft supply organization, Jennifer McGuire, an amazing crafter, has got it down to a science. So I watched one of her videos to see how she organized her markers. So in order to capture each color and their variations when water is added, I made a swatch sheet and wrote the corresponding number below each color. Then I used a hole-punch and punched out tiny circles to place on the tips of each marker for quick access. I then used the multi-medium matte to adhere them to the top of each marker and once that was dry, I applied glossy accents to give them a lovely seal and shine.
In Jennifer’s video, she didn’t say what to do with the remaining color swatch but I decided it was the perfect size and slid it into the back of the marker case. So now I have two references and this one I can take out and look at all of the colors side-by-side in one glance to see what colors I want to use.
I love organizing supplies as much as I love purchasing them so this was really a fun activity. I am going away in a little over a week for my annual girlfriend creative escape and I can’t wait to bring these markers to play with them.
