Good Morning Monday – More coloring

Ok, so it isn’t exactly morning. I had a few things to do this morning so I didn’t get a chance to write and push this post live until now. Let’s pretend that it’s still morning! I had a really nice visit with my sister this weekend and I managed to complete two coloring pages while crafting with some of my girlfriends on Saturday.

The first one is from that color by number book, Christmas by Creative Haven. The artist is George Toufexis and this will not be the last of his books I buy. I really enjoy the carefree coloring when the colors are all selected for me and the images are beautiful. It was quite relaxing.

By the way, I am listening to Christmas music while I type (don’t tell my youngest son!). That music really lifts my spirits. My youngest says I should wait until after Thanksgiving, but I usually cave before then.

The second coloring page is from Debbie Macomber’s Very Merry Christmas Coloring book. I used a lot of different mediums for this page. I used my Inktense watercolor pencils, Prismacolor Pencils, SparklePop silver glitter pen, and clear Wink of Stella for the snow. It was so much fun working on this page. I am definitely going to work on this one again.

I took a close-up so maybe you can see the Wink of Stella I used on the snow. It shimmers so pretty.

Have a lovely day friends!

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #535

on my desk…

Hello friends! We had a long weekend so it feels like it was just a minute ago I was snooping around your desks. For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

What’s on my desk you ask? First, I was a naughty because I bought some cinnamon jelly beans and that’s in the bag on the left. Jelly beans are one of my weaknesses and I try to avoid them because I can’t stop. I also took out an old Prima stamp and stamped up this beautiful image on some watercolor paper and then I took out my lastest favorites – my Dewert Inktense Watercolor pencils.

Painted this lovely Prima stamp.

I had so much fun painting her. I bought these stamps so many years ago and kind of forgot I had them. So I am thrilled I pulled them out. I bought them to use with my Copics back then but I tell you, watercoloring them was so relaxing.

This is the other stamp I own.

I had so much fun I went online to see who still sells these stamps and I ordered a few more. I plan on adding a background color to the one on the left and including a sentiment to the bottom of each.

If you look underneath each of the images, I used two pages out of my desk ca for calendar for color inspiration. I can’t wait for the other stamps to arrive so I can paint them. I think I will put these ladies up in my craft room!

Well this week is a short post so I can try to make my rounds and snoop.

Hope you all are well and can’t wait so see what you are up to.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #532

On my desk…

I finished this page! I procrastinated for a few days and then I decided I better get it done since I told you last week that I would share when I finish.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

I used a white jelly roll pen for highlights. I always wanted to use my white gel pen on my coloring pages and haven’t really found the right one to do so. On this page, I used it on some of the bubbles, on the coral and some of the other creatures.

The completed page.

I am so impressed with the paper. There is a little warping but I kind of like the look. It lends itself nicely to the aquatic theme. The reverse page has a large jellyfish so I think it will look really cool.

Happy mail arrived yesterday!

I forgot that I had pre-ordered these books it was so long ago. So it was a pleasant surprise to open the box and see these beauties. They are both high quality hard covered books. Spirit Animals is by the same illustrator as the book, Daydreams that I colored above. So now I have two of her books.

A peek inside Flora.

What perfect time for Flora to arrive. This book makes me think of both fall and spring so I can see me having fun coloring this beauty this fall. I mean just look at it. How cute is that little tree house? Oh and look at the little hammock.

One more peek in Flora.

A teapot house must be colored by me. I absolutely love it. Look at all the flowers surrounding it. So many possibilities!

A peek inside Spirit Animals.

This one is so cool I like that they designed a tech theme to go with the spirit animal spider and lady.

One more peek inside Spirit Animals.

You all know I like butterflies and this one does not disappoint. It’s beautiful.

Let’s see, maybe I should make a goal to color at least one page in each by the end of September. Let’s see if I can do it.

Today is my boys first day of school so I am a bit emotional. I always cry thinking about how fast they are growing. My youngest looked so small entering the big building. I will feel better after a few days but the transition is always hard for me too.

Well enough of that, I am off to go snooping!

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #531

my desk…

Hello! Sorry I am late. I had class last night, and I had a hard time falling asleep when I got in bed, which resulted in a slow start to the day. But here I am to share my space with you crafty mavens!

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

This is my first real dive into my Dewert Inktense pencils. I have dabbled a little but this the first time I really went all in on the process. Today I am using my new Daydreams coloring book by Hanna Karlzon. It’s hardcover and absolutely lovely. I highly recommend it. The paper quality is suitable for pencils and water color. Then I found a Youtuber that used the Intense pencils on this page in her video. I loved her color schemes so much I just had to lift them!

Unfortunately I have to run out later and take my son to a doctors’ appointment or else I would spend the time to finish this page. I only have a little left. It has taken me several sessions to get this far but I think I can complete the remaining items in one sitting. I have to practice more with the blending but it is very relaxing working with these pencils and this paper. I look forward to coloring more in this book. I love this process of discovery. I know I have a lot to learn but definitely want to improve my skills with this medium.

Well I’m already late to the party so I am going to sign off so I can go snoop.

Happy crafting my friends!!

Belinda
