Good Morning Monday – More coloring

Ok, so it isn’t exactly morning. I had a few things to do this morning so I didn’t get a chance to write and push this post live until now. Let’s pretend that it’s still morning! I had a really nice visit with my sister this weekend and I managed to complete two coloring pages while crafting with some of my girlfriends on Saturday.

The first one is from that color by number book, Christmas by Creative Haven. The artist is George Toufexis and this will not be the last of his books I buy. I really enjoy the carefree coloring when the colors are all selected for me and the images are beautiful. It was quite relaxing.

By the way, I am listening to Christmas music while I type (don’t tell my youngest son!). That music really lifts my spirits. My youngest says I should wait until after Thanksgiving, but I usually cave before then.

The second coloring page is from Debbie Macomber’s Very Merry Christmas Coloring book. I used a lot of different mediums for this page. I used my Inktense watercolor pencils, Prismacolor Pencils, SparklePop silver glitter pen, and clear Wink of Stella for the snow. It was so much fun working on this page. I am definitely going to work on this one again.

I took a close-up so maybe you can see the Wink of Stella I used on the snow. It shimmers so pretty.

Have a lovely day friends!

Happy Monday!

Hello! I hope you all are well. I somehow managed to work through last week and missed writing a post so I thought I would share a recap of my peaceful Mother’s Day. The photos are not in order but I bet you can figure that out!!

My day began with a yummy homemade breakfast-in-bed and then I spent a little time reading in bed until my youngest joined me for a chat. Then Leao set up the new pump to our rain barrel and I was able to spend time watering some plants in the garden with rainwater. We always talked about getting a rain barrel and I am so happy we finally got around to doing that. It makes so much sense and the plants prefer the rainwater. We have two barrels and I could not believe how much I was able to water from only two barrels! Leao’s young lilac bush had its first bloom right in time for Mother’s Day. So I had to snap a picture of it. I have the old fashion lilac bushes but his bush has the beautiful fun white outline on the petals.

Then Apollo and I sat outside and ate some sushi for lunch. On Saturday, we spent the day with my mother-in-law and we ate lobster to celebrate. They also bought me a huge pot of dianthus and I knew exactly where to place it. I have a large pot I bought last year in place of the large tree we had to cut down. I kind of thought it would be a nice memorial for the tree so I bought a pot but never filled it. The dianthus pot fits in it perfectly and the flowers are so prolific. I look out my office window and smile at all those blossoms.

Leao took Apollo and I for a chai at Starbucks then we drove over to nearby lake to sit for a bit. Something about being near water is so calming.

At the end of the day I watched some TV with my husband and colored my first page in one of my new coloring books. I plan to complete it this week. I really enjoyed coloring this page.

What a relaxing but filled day I had. I didn’t miss laundry, cooking or cleaning one bit!

Have a wonderful Monday!

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #593

on my desk…

Hello, my crafty friends! It’s Wednesday and you know what time it is. Time to snoop. For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

After heavy rain all of yesterday and late into the night, the clouds have lifted and the sun is shining bright making me very happy.

On my desk you can see my laptop, some new goodies that arrived for playtime, my coloring book, planner, and other odds and ends.

Thea my desk plant was getting lonely when I am away from my desk so I bought Drew the Dracaena to keep her company. He may require more light so I will see if he can thrive on my desk or else he will be moved closer to the window. Thea is a bit of a diva but I think she will warm up to Drew.

Above is my latest bargain. I was in Michael’s last week and decided to go into the clearance section. I am so glad I did. I found the stunning paper pack for $1.77!! I couldn’t believe it. I wish they had two because I would have bought more.

I used some of my new dies to make cardfronts at Saturday’s Zoom Craft session. I cut up the paper from that paper pack and love how it looks behind the silhouette deer and trees. I had intended on making some distress backgrounds but this was even easier without the mess. I also tested out some single deer dies. I just love animals in silhouette.

On Sunday, we made the trek to Ikea to go buy a new desk for my youngest son. This was a picture of the line. It’s long but it constantly moved so I didn’t mind much. They only allow a limited amount in the store so they set this up outside. Like Disney World, without the fun rides at the end. But I have to say once we got inside it was really nice. It felt like we had the store to ourselves. Definitely worth the wait. We found a great desk and a few other items.

I will leave you with the start of a new coloring page. I have been missing my coloring books so I made a point to take one out and listened to an audiobook while I colored. I found this great color pallette on Youtube so I have limited colors to choose from but it’s making for a fun time.

I hope you all well. I will visit desks over the next few days like I usually do.

Happy crafting!

Belinda

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #580

I am sorry I am so late. I had trouble sleeping last night. I was up until 2am reading trying to fall asleep. So I will be walking zombie for a day!

I have completed my first page in my new color by number coloring book. It was really fun and relaxing since I didn’t need to decide on colors.

There is something wonderful about using old tools that you have had for a long time for a new project. I am working on some bookmarks and I found some old dies that I haven’t used in a very long time. The only complaint was that I had to vacuum up all the little circles that I poked out of the frame!

Above is a picture of some cards I made last Saturday during our weekly Zoom craft session. I used distress oxide on watercolor paper and Copics to color the beauty in the water.

This pandemic has not been good to my waistline so I have started a new weight training program. So hopefully I will be recognizable when we finally get a handle on this pandemic and get back out there.

Sunday I set my stuff up on my deck to paint the background on a new coloring page.

Now that it’s dry I will have to come up with color combos for the dragon.

That’s all for this past week. I can’t wait to see what you all have been up to.

Stay well.

Belinda
