Good morning my crafty WOYWW friends! For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.
I missed out on last week’s rounds so I thought I would try to pop in this week. It’s cloudy and a bit shaded outside so my morning photos aren’t the best but at least you can see what’s happening over here.
In the middle of my desk, you will see the components of a 3D camper. I cut them out yesterday on my Silhouette and once assembled, I will post a few pictures of it. I found it in the Silhouette store and instantly fell in love.
To the right is my WeRMemory Keepers Pinwheel punch. I bought a few years back when all the hype was about and never used it much. But my son has a science project and he asked me to buy him a pinwheel. I said, “Never fear, your crafty mom is here!!” He looked at me like I was mad and I told him I could make him one in varying sizes. So that is my task today. To the right of that is the “In My Garden” coloring book I shared with you last week. I am participating in a 30-day coloring challenge and thought I could use more incentive to play in my coloring books.
On the left is a receipt from garden shopping. I keep track of my gardening expenses each year. The garden geek in me is revealed. I bought some great plants with my father-in-law last week. Take a peek.
Next to the receipt is my latest bargain. I was looking for supplies with my son for his science project at our local craft store and I found these beauties on clearance for $2.50 each. I am thrilled. I can use them in my bullet journal, or scrapbooking when I finally return to that love of mine.
You might also see the red and white invite for me to attend my son’s stepping up ceremony from 8th to 9th grade. I am one proud mom and can’t wait.

Hello Everyone! I don’t know what I am thinking because June is a busy month but I am always up for a challenge. From June 1 – 30th is the 30-day coloring challenge created and hosted by none other than Kathy Racoosin at 
This is from Day 1 which was on Saturday. I convinced my youngest, to help me kick off the challenge by coloring with me. He is coloring in one of my old coloring books that contain a bunch of mandalas. I helped him select a color scheme and he dove in. I think I will try to get him to color with me on another day too because although he didn’t want to admit it, he was having fun coloring and chatting with me.
I chose the “In My Garden” coloring book. I am always discovering more about myself each time I sit to create. What I noticed was I gravitated to this smaller book to kick off the challenge. There is something comforting about a smaller canvas. It’s not too small it’s more of mid-range size about 8×8. So it’s fun to hold and easy to turn while coloring. I used one of my pre-made color swatches that I created a few weeks back to help me with my color selection. I find them so handy and when I use them the pages always look more cohesive.
Well it if you have been hanging out with me for long, you would know that I have an annual plant shopping that occurs between Mother’s and Father’s day. I always give my father-in-law a gift certificate to one of my favorite garden centers for Father’s day. We learned fast that we should go a few weeks before father’s day to find the best picks. So this past week, he and my Mother-in-law came with me for some shopping! The weather was a perfect 72 and sunny. We rolled off with our little carts to see what goodies we could find and I can tell you that we scored on some beauties. We bought so much that we had to put down one side of the middle row seating to accommodate them.
This year I bought a mixture of perennials and annuals. My goal is to buy more and more perennials and to eventually only need to buy a few annuals for quick pops of color.
My FIL bought some salvia, yarrow, lupine and some other beauties. I snagged some zinnias and snapdragons which are my favorites and I bought some more bee balm to add to my others, fountain grass and many others.
After my FIL left, I got right down to business and began planting and writing in my garden journal. I managed to plant about 70% of them before my allergies and back started talking. I saved the rest and finished up yesterday. 
We spent Saturday on the Cape attending my niece’s high school graduation party. They rented a beautiful place on the waterfront and I walked near the water and remembered how much I used to love seeing this flowers along the beach when I was growing up.
There were two large grassy areas for the kids to play and the food was quite yummy.
Apollo and my other nieces played in these funny inflatables. They would run and bounce off of each other. Some kids even went in the water at the beach but I don’t touch the water until July. It’s too cool for my taste.
Overall a great week and weekend. My allergies are slowly subsiding and I am hopeful that I can spend more time outdoors.

II have a dear friend that is blessed with the opportunities to go to Disney World. She knows my favorite princess is Tiana, which is the only African American princess created by Disney. I have collected a few of her dolls and other items. But my point that I am going for is that now I have a real African American princess to adore.
But I digress. Let’s stop the gushing and talk about my desk. Check it out! I have the completed page I started last week. Ha…I actually finished it to share! I think WOYWW helps on the accountability pressure!! Other items are this beautiful tea themed dies set I bought from my girlfriend over a year ago. Actually maybe longer. I hardly used it to so I was thinking I need to play with it. I am still loving my little tray to hold the colored pencils I use for a page. Lately, I leave my big case on the shelf once I have selected my colors and it makes for less clutter on my desk while I color.
On the left is the edge of my bullet journal (it’s turquoise). I just started using it this year instead of a planner. I am really loving the full flexibility and I am not at all upset that I fit half a year in this one so I ordered another, same color to finish off the second half of the year. I also journal in it which I believe led to more space needed but I like having everything in one place and I keep it simple so it’s fun to return to rather than a chore.
