Silhouette Sunday #20: Shaped Holiday Cards

shapedcard1Hello!! It’s Silhouette Sunday and I have been playing in my craft room for hours today and just enjoying the sound of my machine making magic while I assemble these beauties and select papers for other projects. In fact, I was having so much fun, that I am just now sitting down to share with you my project.shapedcard3With Thanksgiving complete, I thought I would start on my holiday cards and fun home decor projects for the winter months. Today’s cut file came from the Silhouette Design Store which if you haven’t heard, all designs are 50% off for a limited time. That’s a steal!! So I am loading up on files in my wishlist.shapedcard2I was attracted to this card because it is a shaped card. I like how it’s shape silhouette’s the scenery. I also like that it requires very few color papers so I could cut and quickly get to the assembling.

I decided I wanted something between the card base and the house so I hand-cut some silver paper to put behind each house.

shapedcard4The picture doesn’t do these cards justice. They are so cute. I hate to part with them!!shapedcard5

Now I must focus on my football game! Hope you had a great week and I will see you next Sunday to share another cute project.

Happy crafting!!

Birthday step card for baby

babycard1

Hello Everyone! I hope you all are well. Today is a dreary dark and I mean so dark that I have extra lights on to make me think it’s really daytime. The rain is coming down hard and I am dreading pick up today. The idea of standing in a downpour for over 10 minutes is not appealing the least to me. Right now it is coming down so hard it is like a sheet of rain that you can’t see through.

On the sunnier side of things I wanted to share this super cute step card I made for my dear friend Ashley’s baby girl, who just turned 1. I found this cute file on the Silhouette design store and had to have it.babycard2I was so happy when I found the polka dot paper that matched my envelope from Paper Source. The little puffy kitty embellishment is from none other than Crate Paper. The product is called Wonder and it has the cutest puffy stickers in this set. I actually received it in my Gossamer Blue kit.babycard3I used pop dots to give the dresser drawers more dimension and added pearls for the draw pulls. It came together rather quickly and I just love the warm color palette.babycard4I used one of the canvas bags I bought last year on clearance at Target to hold the envelope and used foam letters to personalize the bag.

We had a really nice time at the party and the weather was great so the kids could play outside.

I am off now to get some work completed before that dreadful, drenching I will experience today at pick up!!

Have a blessed day my friends!

30-Day Coloring Challenge: Day 2 – BEEn missing you!

challenge_graphic-4-revised

Hello and here we are at day two. Today I actually have a finished product. I used one of Mo’ Digital Pencil’s images. I think her images are so amazing and this little bee girl is so stinking cute.

day2aI used Stella clear for the wings and tapped the copic lightly to give a furry effect on her tummy.  Yes, that is my tea cup, way too close to my work. I have a standing policy in my craft room – no drinks on my craft table ever.  Obviously, I was feeling daring today.

day2bOk so I think I have officially made Leao think I’m nuts, because I keep saving all of the plastic like this above to use on cards when I make shaker cards or in this instance a window. See honey, I am using it!

day2cI got this cute cut file for my Silhouette from Birds Cards. As soon as I saw it, I knew I could make it with this digi. So today I tried it and really like how it came out.

day2dYou can’t see in the photo but I put the plastic behind the opening behind her head.  I am definitely going to make more of these.

Happy coloring!!

Some Bunny Loves You…

somebunny1

I found this cute card in the Silhouette store (#56692). I am pretty sure that my boys will love them.  I used some Stickles on the tails and heart for sparkle.  I also like that it didn’t require me to use too many different pieces of paper. I now find myself looking at how many different papers I will need when I pick out designs to cut on the Silhouette. It isn’t that is takes long, I just don’t always feel like doing it. I have been using a lot of scraps when necessary to avoid cutting only a little out of a whole sheet (hold please…the hoarder speaking right now!).

somebunny2I also changed the words to a print and cut so that I didn’t have to bother messing around with little letters and adhering them to the paper. I will have to show a tutorial on how to do that on one of my Silhouette Sundays.

Well I am off to run some errands. One in particular, to buy the boys something nice to wear for school photos. Don’t ask when the photos are being taken…yup..tomorrow.  I don’t know why I wait until the last minute.

Have a blessed day my friends.

Belinda
