Silhouette Sunday #20: Shaped Holiday Cards

shapedcard1Hello!! It’s Silhouette Sunday and I have been playing in my craft room for hours today and just enjoying the sound of my machine making magic while I assemble these beauties and select papers for other projects. In fact, I was having so much fun, that I am just now sitting down to share with you my project.shapedcard3With Thanksgiving complete, I thought I would start on my holiday cards and fun home decor projects for the winter months. Today’s cut file came from the Silhouette Design Store which if you haven’t heard, all designs are 50% off for a limited time. That’s a steal!! So I am loading up on files in my wishlist.shapedcard2I was attracted to this card because it is a shaped card. I like how it’s shape silhouette’s the scenery. I also like that it requires very few color papers so I could cut and quickly get to the assembling.

I decided I wanted something between the card base and the house so I hand-cut some silver paper to put behind each house.

shapedcard4The picture doesn’t do these cards justice. They are so cute. I hate to part with them!!shapedcard5

Now I must focus on my football game! Hope you had a great week and I will see you next Sunday to share another cute project.

Happy crafting!!

Silhouette Sunday #19: Pencil Topper Gifts

silhouettesundaynov17_2016

Hello Everyone! It’s been a long time since I posted to Silhouette Sunday (over a year to be exact!). But finding balance to meet all of my commitments is an on-going process. One thing for sure is I still absolutely love my Silhouette machine and use it regularly. I have my eye on the new one but that’s talk for another day (Shhh…). Today I wanted to share with you the cutest little cut file I bought to make gifts for Apollo and his classmates.

It is a turkey pencil topper (#35387). I purchased on sale for 74 cents and downloaded the file from Silhouette’s Design store. Now that is a bargain. Then I marched over to my paper bins to see what I have that I could use for this project. I am always looking for ways to utilize the paper that I have amassed over the years. This was the perfect project to do just that. I used assorted sheets of paper and cardstock in the same hues but different patterns. I bought these inexpensive jars and wrapped a coordinating thread that I bought a while back at the Target dollar section. I thought it spruced up the jar a bit. I must say they look so cute in my craft room that I almost hate to see them go!

silhouettesundaynov17_2016cI will be delivering them to Apollo’s class tomorrow so they have a fun surprise before heading off to the Thanksgiving holiday. I will be back next week to share with you another Silhouette. I have amassed so many cut files and created so many of my own, that I have ample amount to share.

Happy crafting my friends!

Belinda
