Hello Everyone! Happy Monday! I went to pick up a Chai this morning and look at all these beauties that are already falling in my driveway. I hope the strange weather will not hamper the beautiful transition of the leaves. By the way, did the prices go up for tea at Starbucks? I felt like I paid more but I wasn’t handing it back!! Too yummy.
I hope you are doing well and had a great weekend. I had a nice relaxing weekend with my family. I spent a long time on my deck on Friday reading and listening to the leaves blow in the wind. Saturday was another chill day and Sunday was football day. I hung out with Leao and watched football while the boys completed their homework.

Sunday was also National Comic Book day? Why do I know that? Well my oldest has had an interest in comics and creating comics for years. I always want to find ways to connect with him so, I started reading comics with him and even buying my own when we visit our local comic shop. So that’s how I find myself knowing when the Comic Con is in town or what day is the day of the National Comic Book day. I had big intentions of he and I reading in the morning some comics in honor of Comic Book Day but I realized I forgot to put in my spring bulbs. So Apollo came out and helped me plant my bulbs. By the time we finished, I didn’t get time to read comics with Nick. So today I will try to spend some time with him once he finishes his homework to read a few of his and hopefully one of mine.
I hope you all have a blessed day!

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday! That’s me today and do you see that fan in the background? Well it is muggy today and I refuse to use my air conditioner on September 19th. Ironically Leao and I talked about removing the window units last week. Then today happened. I am hoping the rain will cool it off. Either way, it’s me and my fan today.
On Saturday, Leao and I took the boys to Revere’s Art Festival. It took place across from Revere Beach. So it was fun to walk along the water on our way to the event. I love seeing artists display their crafts. One day, I would like to organize my art to sell at a craft fair but it requires a lot more effort than I would like to put forth at this time.
The weather was fantastic and I got into a lengthy chat with an artist who also uses alcohol inks to create her art. Can you find my in the picture? I bought this piece from that same artist and I am trying to find the right place in my craft room to place it. For now, it is on my desk.
After the festival we headed on over to a favorite, Kelly’s, for some naughty fried food. I decided shrimp and fries would fit my appetite.
The first time I went to Kelly’s was at this location with my friend Natana, way back during the college years. They have since opened a few more locations. One of which is in Saugus but I rarely go because I try to limit the fried goodies in my life. Which makes each occasion truly yummy.
This weekend, I completed a book and started a much anticipated sequel by Tahir Sabaa. I will be sure to write up some reviews for the Nook soon.

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday! It is time to say goodbye to our new friend – our first pool. I grew up on the Cape so I am a beach person. I like swimming in the ocean and relaxing in the sand. So for years now, I have fought the battle to get a pool. This summer, I told Leao I didn’t think it would be worth it, the boys probably wouldn’t want it and more importantly wouldn’t use it! Boy was I wrong. I asked them and they said yes. So I began researching options. I didn’t want to invest into anything too expensive so I could test the waters (no pun intended). I found this great one on Amazon on sale for half off and ordered it. The UPS delivered it right to our rear driveway so setup was faster.
Apollo had a pool party with movie night and had a blast. The boys used it often this summer and I was surprised how much I enjoyed taking dips in it.
On the hot days, I had to admit it was rather convenient. It’s not the same as the beach but a great option for the boys and their friends when they come visit. So next year, we just might prepare the spot for a more permanent pool and scale larger.
All this said, it is time to close this pool for the season and I am sad to see it go because I loved hearing the laughter it generated from my backyard this summer. It’s become and old friend. Apollo wants to take a few more dips so we will probably end up closing it at the end of this week. I laugh when I think of how wrong I was and happy that I finally opened to the possibilities that led to my family’s summer joy.
Well I have to go suit up so I can take my last dip with Apollo today.
