Some Bunny Loves You…

somebunny1

I found this cute card in the Silhouette store (#56692). I am pretty sure that my boys will love them.  I used some Stickles on the tails and heart for sparkle.  I also like that it didn’t require me to use too many different pieces of paper. I now find myself looking at how many different papers I will need when I pick out designs to cut on the Silhouette. It isn’t that is takes long, I just don’t always feel like doing it. I have been using a lot of scraps when necessary to avoid cutting only a little out of a whole sheet (hold please…the hoarder speaking right now!).

somebunny2I also changed the words to a print and cut so that I didn’t have to bother messing around with little letters and adhering them to the paper. I will have to show a tutorial on how to do that on one of my Silhouette Sundays.

Well I am off to run some errands. One in particular, to buy the boys something nice to wear for school photos. Don’t ask when the photos are being taken…yup..tomorrow.  I don’t know why I wait until the last minute.

Have a blessed day my friends.

Happy Monday: New ‘Congrats’ cards!

congrats1Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and ready for a new week filled with opportunities to learn something new.  I created something new – some congrats cards. I am discovering that I have not been making as much variety in my cards and so I am challenging myself to branch out.  I made these two cards using my Silhouette and will add them to my ‘family and friends’ card box. I am trying to make sure I keep up with stocking up on these as well as cards for my shop.  I bought these cards from SVG Cuts.

congrats2

Another great thing about making these cards is that I am using up more paper which we all know I tend to hoard.  I have been doing some spring cleaning in my craft room and found some beauties that I am finally using and some that I need to part with that I don’t like anymore.  I am also trying to challenge myself that anything I buy now, I must use within 2 weeks of purchase. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Fun Photos Friday #21: Outdoor Reading

Hello, happy Friday!

I think every year we welcome spring with open arms. The winters seem to be becoming more brutal and down right freezing.  So it makes the yearning for spring strong.  We have as you may have seen in older posts, a screened in deck.  During the winter we move things to our garage and throw a tarp over the table and chairs.  When we think it’s time, we will clean off everything and out will come all my pillows and decor and that becomes our sanctuary.

While it is still not quite warm enough, there is still another little place that is one of my favorite reading nooks that I can enjoy even before we can pull out the deck stuff. It’s on the stairs on the side that leads up to the deck.  It always gets really sunny and warm here. So on decent days recently I have come to spend my lunch hour reading and eating there.  Yesterday two beautiful Crocuses greeted me while I sat to read.  They are the first bloomers in my yard and they are sure sign of the warmth to come. Wahoo!!

I thought my book would look nice next to the flowers for the photo and help represent one of my favorite things to do – reading in nature. I am listening to one book club book on audio and reading a book from the library for another book club.  This one is an African American Historical fiction.  I will be sure to put a review up when I complete both.

Well I hope you all get to find some time with nature even a few minutes. After this long winter, I welcome every opportunity.

Have a blessed weekend!

‘Miss You’ cards

missyou2I haven’t made many ‘Miss You’ cards but always want to send them.  I think of a friend or family member that I haven’t seen in a while and think of how I would like to see them or of a funny story shared together and then a fleeting thought occurs, why not make a card and send it?  What do they say about the thought counting?  Well I have lots but I sure don’t act on many of them.

missyou1

So when I was making up cards, I made a few miss you cards and intend on making more in the future because I really do want people that I care about know how much I think about them.

My friend April who comments on here has been inspiring me with the many sympathy cards and cards she makes for the troops. So I think I will have to add them to the list to make in the very near future.

Have a blessed day!
