What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #543

on my desk…

Hello crafty ladies! It’s that time again! For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

First I need to do some housekeeping. I apologize for not making my rounds last week. I visited exactly 2 desks last week. I just got consumed by life. But I promise to do better this week. Besides, I need to know what you ladies are up to. I also want to apologize for the dark photos. It has been crap weather hear since Sunday. Rainy, cloudy, dreary and chilly. So the lighting in my craft room is a bit funky.

Ok onto my desk. Well it is quite cluttered today with lots of transition stuff. I have lot’s started and none finished… <sigh> Really that’s a reoccuring thing for me as of late. I was inspired by the Paper Source flyer to create similar designs with my own stuff. One card had beautiful wreath with a sentiment on the inside. I really liked the simplicity of it. So I layed out the catalog and opened my Silhouette. I found a lovely Christmas Holly wreath in my library of files and sized it for an A6 cardfront. Then I tried two different cardstock until I found the right weight. This was a piece of Bazzill paper from way back that was nice and thick. Some of the cheaper cardstock are too thin and often have a white core. The only thing is I will need to carefully remove them from the sheet because my blade is starting to dull. Below you can see one that I successfully removed.

You can also see one of my new additions to my coloring book collection. Collection is the right word because boy do I have many. 🙂 Below you can see the first page I colored. It’s the title page.

I saw a crafter on Youtube use gold embossing power on black and had to try it with two of my new background stamps. See the picture below. I love the chic look. I will definitely doing this more often.

My final pictures is a pile on the floor beside my desk. It’s there because two days ago, I crossed the police tape and ventured into my craft closet a.k.a. Pandora’s box. I have been stumped trying to find some of my Christmas supplies and cards I worked on last year. I realized it had to be in the closet so I went for it. I didn’t want to go in there because I would be forced to clean and purge. (Neither are my favorite tasks.) Luckily they were not in too deep so I escaped without a rescue team! So that messy pile is actually some really cool stuff I will go through to begin my holiday card making process. So stay tuned for that.

Well enough from me, I need to stop typing so I can come visit you and snoop!

2016 Autumn Collection – Sneak Peek

autumn2016sneakpeekHello! How are you today? It’s cold and sunny outside in my neck of the woods. But nice and comfy inside. I have my cup of Chai and I am ready to wrap up work on my fall collection of cards. I had taken a long time off from production for my online store and focused on offline custom items and continuing to explore new techniques in my craft. So I have to shake off the cobwebs and get down to the business of making some products for my online store.

I based this Autumn Collection on one color palette. I have never done this before and it sort of just happened that I liked the palette I was using on one card and thought hmm, that might look nice on this other card. So I created the next one with it and then the light bulb moment occurred to create my collection around this palette.

I took teaser photos and included them of some of the products that will be released next week in the photo above. I am wrapping up a few and then on to the photography phase to make them ready for my Etsy shop. I am going away this weekend so I had to push my final launch date out into next week.  This time of year, it’s very difficult to push deadlines out so I am going to have to hustle onward to meet the next set of deadlines.  I will announce the final release date here so stay tuned.

I hope you all are having a blessed day and keeping warm if you are in the colder regions.

30 Day Coloring Challenge #4: Day 27 – ‘Live in the Moment!” card

logoHello! I know…this challenge ended March 1st but I missed a few days so I am seeing it through to the end so my days will be off.

Today I finished coloring the Saturated Canary image from yesterday and made a card with her. day27a I still don’t like how the blues blended in her dress but decided to complete the card anyway.

I used up old supplies from my stash like this lovely acetate cover that I put on top of the card with glue dots. I love how it frames her. I colored in a sky and a ground and stamped it with a sentiment from another Flourishes stamp set.

day27aI am off to go make dinner but will be back with day 28 tomorrow! Happy coloring my friends.

30 Day Coloring Challenge #4: Day 26 – Garden Sadie card complete!

logoHello day 26!! The first thing I did this morning after dropping off the boys at school, was come home and make a cup of tea. After that I headed over to the polls and cast my vote for the Primaries. I always feel a bit emotional when I have the opportunity to vote. It is a blessing that I never take for granted and always take seriously. I usually bring the boys with me but they were in school today so I went alone. Holding a ballot in my hand and standing there marking my choices and thinking about all the people that made this possible for me, was pretty heavy for my morning. Hence why I had a cup of tea before going. Nonetheless, I am once again thrilled with the opportunity to vote.

After that I headed to my craft table to complete my Gardening Sadie card.  I used one of those extra embossed cardstock from a previous card to be her background. Then I used my MISTI to add this lovely sentiment from a Flourishes stamp set. Another great stamp company that closed down.

day26aI used ‘Grape Jelly’ Momento ink for the sentiment.

day26bI added Sadie and this card is another clean and simple design that makes me smile. I hope you like her too.

Then I got started with another image. This one from Saturated Canary and I think she is called Kite.

day26cUsed my trusty Silhouette to cut her out and started coloring her. Not so thrilled with the way the blues are blending but will keep working with it and see what happens after I let it set for a while.

day26dI will finish coloring her tomorrow and share the finished card with her on it.

Have a blessed day!

Belinda
