30 Day Coloring Challenge #4 – Day 4 – “Sail Away with Me” card

logoHello Everyone! It’s day 4 of the coloring challenge. Today is a another warm day. It’s strange to have warm temperatures in February but I think some snow is coming soon.

I woke up not feeling well rested today and that voice (you know, the one in our head that tells us negative stuff.) was talking loud. It suggested strongly that I take a day off from the gym. Normally I ignore her but today, she had so many ‘convincing’ arguments, so I caved!! So after I dropped off the boys, she continued to talk and I told her I needed to stick to the challenge and that although a blanket, a book and tea on the couch sounded extremely inviting, I have a commitment so I headed to my craft room.

day4a

I selected a Penny Johnson stamp from Stampavie that I have had way too long and it was still unused. So I cracked the seal and started thinking of what to make. I decided I wanted to make a window card with a Valentine or Love theme. So I opened up my Silhouette Designer software and made a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base with a heart on the front. I love the dies with the stitching included so I used my Offset tool to create the same affect on my heart. I tested it out to make sure it would show just enough of the image to secure interest. Then I cut out two cards on my heavy duty cardstock.

day4bI used my Misti to align the image properly with the heart window before I stamped it on my XpressIt paper.

day4cThen I stamped up the image and made a few extra for future cards.

day4dI decided to add pattern paper from Carta Bella’s ‘ Words of Love collection to the front of the card because it was to bare and I didn’t feel like stamping a sentiment on the front so I chose a pattern paper with words. I first added to complimentary colored strips from Basic Grey’s True Love collection to the front of the card to add further dimension.

day4eI really love the stitching so when I created another file to cut out a heart window for the front, I enlarged it so that you will still see the beautiful stitch lines. I love when I make files like this because I can use them over and over for different projects.

day4fI colored up the image with my Copics and tried out a new color combo for the wood on the boat.  This image provided me with another opportunity to work on this technique. It was also my first sunset. Something I will continue to practice moving forward. I used clear Wink of Stella on the water for shimmer.

day4gOverall, I like how it came out. I hope you are having a great day! I am glad I didn’t listen to that voice so I had time to play with my markers.

Happy coloring!!

Happy Birthday Bernadette!

bernibday1Today is my sister Berni’s birthday. So yesterday I decided to make her card (yes, cutting it close – I agree).  I love using digital stamps for the flexibility of making custom sizes. I figured I wouldn’t waste paper and cut out extra. I used the print and cut feature on Silhouette to make it happen.

This is a Mo Manning image and versatile. I like using it for birthday cards but will definitely look for more uses in the future.

bernibday3I used my Copics to color her up and will be mailing it off (late) with a bunch of fun goodies I put together for her.  I hope she likes it.

It’s cold today but I am being rather productive so that is making the day zoom by fast.

I hope you all have a blessed day.

30-Day Coloring Challenge Part 2: Day 3

challenge_graphic-June-650

Hello Everyone! Day 3 is here. I had to run errands this morning and my afternoon is pretty packed so I squeezed in a little time to pick colors and color up a Mo’s Digital image.  This will be a spoiler for some of my readers because they participate in my monthly ATC swap. But I am working on my May (yes, I’m behind) ATCs right now and this little cutie is going to be on them.

day3aUnfortunately I don’t have a finished project to share because it goes on my ATC and I can’t spoil everything. I once again used my Hex chart. I think it will definitely be my go to for coloring moving forward. It just makes sense.

day3bSo here is one colored up and my ATC group will see the finished ATC when I mail out their packages early next week.

Hope you all are coloring or crafting. It’s just good for the soul!

Have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.

Happy New Year!!!

Hello Everyone!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and vacation. I had a great time. I spent it with family and tried to cherish every minute. The boys loved spending more time with family and of course receiving some gifts.

So many plans are rushing through my head for this new year. I am currently working on some designs for new product lines for Belinda’s Crafts and will be sure to keep you posted when I release them.

I am also working on redesign concepts for this blog and some restructuring.

I already made one change, by adding a new link from the main page directly to Belinda’s Book Nook. Look up on the top navigation bar.  I did this because I noticed I really read a lot last year and want to share more of my book happenings with you all. However, for my book blog friends, it will be easier for them to navigate directly to my book blog with a direct link. It can also be accessed on the right sidebar in the categories box but I find some people aren’t aware and don’t use that navigation as much. So I will be restructuring to make this blog more simple to navigate.

I also will be flushing out a new posting schedule that will include a lot more content in the three main areas of this site:

  • Blog –  Where I will post general stuff and family happenings as well as my thoughts on things.
  • Project –  This will include much of the crafty happenings including but not limited to: Silhouette Sunday, Cardmaking, Creative Play, Copic Coloring, Hauls, Project Life, Product announcements
  • Book Nook – This is where I will have all things book related including but not limited to: Reviews, Hauls and other weekly features.

I hope you all are well and I look forward to another amazing year!

Have a blessed day!

Belinda
