AC Moore Haul: Amazing paper sale

ACMooreApril2014aHello! I must first give you the background so that you will find me innocent in ‘the case of a craft shopaholic’!  Yesterday, I took the boys to lunch and to the movies.  I recently signed up for an online watercolor for cardmakers.  It sounded like something that can help expand my product offerings on Etsy. So I parked my car near AC Moore with the intention of buying one of the water color sets recommended on the syllabus.  However, on my way to the arts section, I saw this…A Managers’ Special. Those yellow labels popped and I looked and then I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy 12×12 pads of paper for $6.88.  That would simply be insane.  So I loaded one into my cart.  Then I turned and saw 6×6 pads being sold for $2.99.  I could not resist. They are what I use for my cards. So I loaded up the cart. Mind you, I have yet to reach the art section to pick up my watercolor set. After stuffing many pads in my cart, I managed to find the art section and locate the water color set.

ACMooreApril2014bSo that little watercolor set in the middle is what I originally went in for and the pile beneath is my actual purchase.

I have yet to get my video process ready so I thought I would share pictures of the pads of paper I selected and show you two of my favorite papers in each:

This pad has been around for a bit but for $2.99, I thought the time was right to add it to my collection. My two favorite papers in it are:

I have something for the colored dots. They are so vibrant and who could resist the bicycles?

Ok… so what do you think? Crazy Shopaholic or Savvy Crafty Shopper? (And if my husband is reading, he should refrain from weigh in on the matter!)

Have a blessed day friends!

New Easter card

eastercard1I have this cute digi from Saturated Canary and I just knew I had to use if on some Easter cards. I am so thrilled how this card came out. I also like when I use a lot of products that have been in my possession for a very long time with little or no use. Such is the case with this burlap paper. I bought this over a year ago at Joann’s and never used it. I thought of the idea of trying to cut it with my spellbinders. So I picked simple shapes and with a few pass overs, I was able to make the cut.  I haven’t tried cutting it on my Silhouette but if it cuts it, I am going to be one happy girl. eastercard2The burlap paper makes me think of an Easter basket or hay so I thought it would be a nice accent on the card. I like the texture it adds.  It is on sale now at Joann’s if you want to give it a go. I hope my sister-in-law isn’t reading because I put it in the mail today and I would hate to ruin the surprise.

Have a blessed day!

Happy Monday: New card reveal

friendship2Hello Everyone! Happy Monday! OMG…it is beautiful today. Right now it is 65 degrees outside and it is sunny. I have my window open in my craft room and I can hear all the birds singing. I get so happy this time of year when the days are longer and the temperature rises. Right now, I am experiencing a book crazy and reading. reading and did I mention reading?  I just can’t get enough books. So I think I may head out to my deck after this post and do just that.  But first, I must share my lastest card.

I made this friendship card and I used my new embossing folder and added a doily for even more texture to the card.  I used my copics to color up the image and some glitter glue to add a little something, somethin’ to the flowers.

friendship1I decide to just show the colors I use in a pencil jar I borrowed from the boys.   I had fun coloring these snapdragons. They are one of my favorite flowers in the garden. I will share pictures when mine bloom.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did and look forward to a fun week of crafting and reading. The next thing to distract me from my craft table will be my garden, another love. I am so torn…

Have a blessed day!

Some Bunny Loves You…

somebunny1

I found this cute card in the Silhouette store (#56692). I am pretty sure that my boys will love them.  I used some Stickles on the tails and heart for sparkle.  I also like that it didn’t require me to use too many different pieces of paper. I now find myself looking at how many different papers I will need when I pick out designs to cut on the Silhouette. It isn’t that is takes long, I just don’t always feel like doing it. I have been using a lot of scraps when necessary to avoid cutting only a little out of a whole sheet (hold please…the hoarder speaking right now!).

somebunny2I also changed the words to a print and cut so that I didn’t have to bother messing around with little letters and adhering them to the paper. I will have to show a tutorial on how to do that on one of my Silhouette Sundays.

Well I am off to run some errands. One in particular, to buy the boys something nice to wear for school photos. Don’t ask when the photos are being taken…yup..tomorrow.  I don’t know why I wait until the last minute.

Have a blessed day my friends.

Belinda
