What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #565

on my desk…

Hello, my crafty friends! I hope this day meets you in good health. I take comfort in our weekly snoop sessions as the news here has turned bleaker. I will refrain from repeating because the purpose of our weekly gathering is to inspire and uplift each other.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

Preparing my new journal.

So today I am working on my journals. As you all know I love journals. I have journals designated for different things. I have one for work, one for my reading journey and one just to write my daily thoughts. Today I took a journal I had ordered but didn’t use last year and decided to decorate it to be used starting today. One of my bookworm friends has started a challenge for the month of April to journal every day. She provided us with one-word prompts for each day. I think it will be fun and look forward to journaling with some of my bookish friends. I think it’s important for me to document my experiences and feelings during this difficult time.

I think I might color the desktop gray.

So I pulled out my trusty Copics and a digital image I had already cut out on my Silhouette and colored her up. I do think I will make her desktop gray because it blends in with the book too easily.

A quick selfie on my steps.

This is me outside getting some vitamin D last week. I have made it a point to sit outside every day (weather permitting) to stay healthy. It’s such a joy hearing all the birds. They aren’t affected by all this and they are going about their regular business. I didn’t realize how much I missed hearing and seeing them while locked up inside.

Bike riding in our driveway.

We put air in my youngest’s bike tires and he takes it for a spin in our driveway when the weather is nice enough. I am grateful to have a large drive that he can play and ride in. He’s bigger now but still enjoys the time.

I hope you all are well. I am going to stop by over the next two days to see what’s happening.

Stay well, my friends.

Tag Tuesday: #2 – Fall blessings

nov4_2014a

Hello and welcome to Tag Tuesday. For my second installment, I thought a fall theme. Although the temperatures here lately make me think of winter.  I used a digi from The Paper Shelter and colored her up with my Copics. I bought this image because it reminded me of my love hate relationship with fall. I am a big fan of the fall on the east coast.  I love the crisp air and smell of wood burning and am still in awe of the vibrant colors when the leaves change.  The relationship typically sours when the leaves start to fall. Because then I am faced with raking and bagging them.  So this year, I got on board and we have hired someone to do this for us so we can use those hours doing something we enjoy and my back is also grateful.

I used Crate Paper ‘Farmhouse for the paper on this tag.  The deep rich colors make me happy.  I pulled a coordinating ribbon out of my stash and then topped it with this fun wool-like flower from Recollections. For the words I used a Jillibean Soup label from my Project Life stash.

I hope you are having a great day. Today is election day and I will be heading out to vote this morning with my boys and then treating them to the movies.

Have a blessed day!

Copic Card: Keepin’ Cool

polarbear1

Hello Everyone! I am here today with a card I colored up with my Copics.  I haven’t made a card in about two months. So I am shaking off the cobwebs and slowly starting to get back to craftin’.  My Project Life is now officially way behind but I am coming up with a comeback plan for that too.  I just took the summer to enjoy some reading and relaxing and now I am trying to find a way to bring back my craft projects. During the summer months I tend to garden and read a lot so between that and my family, it leaves little time to really work on my craft projects.

Enough about that, I have been wanting to use this digi I got for free months ago at Just Inked. I finally got around to it and have been loving using the pretty sequins from Lawn Fawn. Surprisingly, the sequins stay put pretty well once dried. I think I used Scotch Quick-dry Adhesive and it dries clear. I think you will be seeing a lot more sequins on my cards.

One thing I would like to work on this year is creating my own backgrounds. I created the one for this card but really want to learn how to improve my techniques.

Well I am off to do a little craftin’.

Have a blessed day.

Happy Monday: New card reveal

friendship2Hello Everyone! Happy Monday! OMG…it is beautiful today. Right now it is 65 degrees outside and it is sunny. I have my window open in my craft room and I can hear all the birds singing. I get so happy this time of year when the days are longer and the temperature rises. Right now, I am experiencing a book crazy and reading. reading and did I mention reading?  I just can’t get enough books. So I think I may head out to my deck after this post and do just that.  But first, I must share my lastest card.

I made this friendship card and I used my new embossing folder and added a doily for even more texture to the card.  I used my copics to color up the image and some glitter glue to add a little something, somethin’ to the flowers.

friendship1I decide to just show the colors I use in a pencil jar I borrowed from the boys.   I had fun coloring these snapdragons. They are one of my favorite flowers in the garden. I will share pictures when mine bloom.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did and look forward to a fun week of crafting and reading. The next thing to distract me from my craft table will be my garden, another love. I am so torn…

Have a blessed day!

Belinda
