Hello and Happy Monday!

mylittlehelper1The photo above is my little helper, Apollo. I had some extra scraps and I gave them to him to punch out butterflies. He did a great job and I used up some of my scraps so I am thinking this was a win-win situation.

I want to apologize for having such an irregular posting schedule last week. I am in the process of preparing for a 4-day craft getaway with my girlfriends and all the prep work has commenced to ensure I bring all the stuff I want to work on, needless to say my craft room is one big giant mess right now. (I love my husband for understanding there IS a method to my madness and being so patient through this process.)

I am trying to make sure I find a balance of bringing enough but not too much as well as variety so if I get in a creative slump, I can jump into something else.

So having said this, I am leaving on Thursday and will be back on Sunday. Therefore, this week, I may be even more irregular in posts.  I will definitely be back next week and ready to share all the fun and all of the projects I manage to complete.

Have  a blessed day!

Silhouette Sunday #8: Card Sketch Organization

017

Hello Everyone! Happy Silhouette Sunday.

Well I am on my way on Thursday for a 4-day craft escape. So one thing I like to use at crops are sketches for inspiration.  So I decided to use my Silhouette to create tags that I could put my card sketches on and then I could easily flip through them to find some inspiration.

sketchtags2

I used to print them out on large sheets of paper but this system works so much better. I get happy just flipping through them. I might even organize them by 6×6 card sketches or some other categories. The beauty is that it is on a ring so I can rearrange and add very easily.

sketchtags3I printed them right on my printer and then cut them on my silhouette. I printed them on white cardstock so they would be durable.

I settled for a little under 4 inches.

I am so thrilled when I think of other ways to use my machine.

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what other things you have been using your machine for?

Have a blessed day!

Belinda’s Book Nook: Online book outlet

unboxed1

Hello Everyone! I have been in a major bookworm phase where I can’t get enough of books. I keep adding more books to my TBR (To Be Read) list and don’t know how I will read them all but I don’t let that stop me.

I recently came across a great online book outlet and placed an order before I shared my thoughts with you all. I ordered 6 books and several were hardcover and the shipping was only something like $5 dollars.

The box arrived last week and the picture above is what I saw once I removed the packing material. Aren’t the covers just gorgeous?

unboxed1aAll book addicts will understand why  I chose 3 photos for this post – the book covers and spines are so gorgeous.

unboxed1bThese are the six books and as soon as I read them I will post reviews up here for you to read.

My first experience with this online book outlet (Book Outlet) was great. The books took about a week to arrive (no big deal because I am always reading something) and the shipping was very low.  The books were in great condition. They are discounted so that means they have a marker mark on the edge of the pages (no problem for me).

You can check them out here. Again, I do still encourage that if you do know an independent book seller, do take time to purchase from them as well because they are such a lovely source for books and we don’t want them all to go out of business.

Happy reading!

Belinda

New card

lifeisgood

Hello! Happy Monday!  I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I recently was going through all of my craft YouTube subscriptions and came across this card with a little African American boy on it and I had to find out where the creator got the stamp.   I watched Amy’s video and was pleasantly surprised to see that the stamp used was not really an African  American boy but it was how she colored him and his hair that led me to believe it.  I do this all the time because I find a shortage of culturally diverse stamps.

I  ordered the stamp (Roberto Rascals Henry’s Rainy Day by CC Designs) quickly grabbed up a paper pack that I had that was very similar in colors and used many of the Copic Colors she used to create my card. I just love this image. I found one more and look forward to coloring it up too.

Have a blessed day!
