What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #193

My overstuffed desk

My overstuffed desk

Hello Everyone!  Phew… we managed to come thru this storm fairly well.  Today was our first day out and about and the boys went back to school.  I posted a few pictures yesterday of the snow.

On to my desk which if you haven’t noticed is tidier than usual.  Oh alright, I consider it “tidier” when I can actually see the white surface.  Which I have to admit is a rare sighting but welcome.

On the left are two new Chinese New Year cards I made and another Valentine card.  My Book Review altered notebook is visible too.  In the middle you can see my latest home decor item. I got reunited with my Martha Stewart glue gun to place flowers on the hearts.  You can see one of my new favorite foam adhesive. It’s black so they are less visible when I use them on projects.  I only wish they came in other thickness because I often like to really pop items off the cards.  On the right the purple cover holds my new Nook HD my sweet husband gave me for Christmas.

This is a brief post but I hope you are all well and I will be able to look at your desks tonight and tomorrow.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #189

Hello Everyone!!

I am feeling much better this week. I finally went to the doctor and it appears yours truly has bronchitis.  Finally able to reduce the medicine so I think I will be as good as new in a few days.

My bulb finally bloomed in my reading nook.

I think the bulb in my craft room has helped in my healing process too. I have been watching it for days and finally they opened.  It is cold here but I can see the tropics when I look at the blooms.

My pretty flowers!

Ok, so what am I working on you ask?  I am working on my 2013 Project Life album.  I started in on the cover and printing the first two weeks of photos.  I decided this year to make my own cards instead of buying the kit.  So let’s see how long before I breakdown and buy a kit.  <hee hee>

Wide shot of my desk.

I actually cleaned up my desk so I actually am enjoying working at it today. So I was able to spread out and actually create.

Close-up of my project.

On the stool next to me I have a bag filled with the paper I intend on using for the album. I picked a vibrant color scheme because I am excited about all the possibilities for 2013.  My jelly bean jar was way too far on the left for my liking. I usually have it very close but as you can see it needs to be refilled (I wonder how that happened?).

My Project Life album.

Using some of my stash feels good. I typically buy new each project but I have decided to shop my stash for this year’s album. I used some Dear Lizzy letter stickers that I have been hoarding for way too long and snatched up a bunch of bright color papers and started creating the cover.

Well I have run on way too long.  Shhh don’t tell Julia how long I babbled!

I am off to go check out your desks for more amazing inspiration.

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #167

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are having a great day. Well I have started the journey of cleaning my craft room so I am sure you all can relate to that mixed feelings the process always brings up. I am looking forward to finding things better and a tidy place but I am definately guilty of hanging onto to things for way to long.  So I tend to have a hard time purging. I feel I will be forever cleaning this room as long as there is something out there to be bought!

Some resist images I created today!

On my desk I have been playing around with different stamping techniques and today I can’t get enough of the ink resist.  I keep on pulling out more stamps to see how they will look. I found some old Martha Stewart Halloween stamps and just couldn’t stop playing. I am thinking some Halloween cards are in order.

Making fun accents with resist ink technique.

I love the distress ink colors I used. The orange and blue are so vibrant, they make me smile everytime I walk by the desk and see them.   Um… yup, I didn’t put anything away after taking these photos. Some habits take a long time to break.

Well a short post for me today. I feel like snooping so off I go.  Thank you for checking in and I will see you next week.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

WOYWW

Hello, and welcome to my first post for WOYWW.  I have been finding inspiration peeking into other crafter’s desks for a few weeks now and wanted to join in on the fun.  So here is a peek at what I am working on this week. I have fallen for the stamps at Flourishes. They have so much detail and they work lovely with copic markers.  I just recently purchased a Silhoutte and used my new die to cut out the pretty shapes. I plan to use them on some cards for Belinda’s Crafts, my Etsy store.
