on my desk…
Hello, my crafty friends! It’s Wednesday and you know what time it is. Time to snoop. For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.
Today, on my desk, you can see a few things. The scrapbook in the middle is my One Little Word scrapbook. I am going back and filling in a little journaling I forgot a few months ago. I have made it a goal to complete this scrapbook by year’s end. I have been participating in One Little Word for years and never have completed it. I am playing a little catch up because I haven’t completed August and September’s prompts. I am going to finish them today so I can listen to October’s prompt. You can also see a new batch of letter stickers I bought for my book journal. I was running low so I bought some more. I use them to spell out the titles’ of the books when I review them. And right next to my tea mug is some cards I am working on.

Remember I bought the electronic Sizzix a few weeks ago? Well look what I found while poking around my craft room yesterday…some Sizzix dies. They make four different tag sizes. So I am excited to use them in my new machine to make some Christmas tags. Isn’t just wonderful when you find little treasures in your craft room you forgot you had?

This week I am continuing to read my way through the Frederick Douglass book. I am proud to say I am half way through this chunkster. If I stay on schedule, I will finish reading it by the end of the month.

Quick garden pick… I know I shared this one before but it seems to be blooming more profusely as everything else is dying back for the season. I sit next to it for my 10 minutes of vitamin D break each day.

A new stamp I just received that I can’t tell you how much I can’t wait to play with it. It’s a background stamp and I see endless possibilities. I will share when I make them.

My Halloween decor is up in my craft room. I bought these lights a few weeks back and I can’t tell you how much joy I find when I plug them in each day.

I think I will move them up a bit so you can see the boo and eek better.

Above are the cards I made during Saturday’s Zoom Craft session. I’m thinking of turning them into birthday cards. I also did some embossing with the embossing folders for future cardmaking.

Lastly, I will leave you with a picture I took from my youngest son’s bedroom window. Typically, this tree starts to change color on the top and slowly works it’s way down. I discovered this many years ago because I love studing the trees in my yard. But this year, it’s happening about 2 weeks early and going fast. The leaves are dropping fast. So I thought I would snap a photo before they go. I hope you all are well and making fun projects. I will pop around today and tomorrow to see what you are up to.

Hello and happy Monday! Great week and weekend. Last week, we finally made it out on a date night. We haven’t gone in months so it was really fun. We tried a new Spanish Restuarant and I think I ate everything on the tapas menu!!
Oh and happy fall! I love autumn and the fall flowers are a favorite so I drove to my favorite garden center on Friday and bought up a bunch of mums to plant around my garden. I planted yellow mums in the front between my Coreopsis. I thought the yellow was a better choice to make things pop.
I planted alternating purple and yellow in pots at the end of my driveway. As they fully bloom they will be a welcome burst of color when we drive into our driveway.
I planted this amazing pink mum. Yes, I can’t believe they are pink. They remind me of Dahlias or Zinnias. I planted them in pots near my veggie beds. I picked plants with plenty of buds that had not opened yet. Because I love to watch the color burst over time.
I also planted three new maroon flowers in my rear raised bed. I am not sure how well they will do. I think they get enough sun but in the past, they don’t do well on the sloped ground. They get lanky and lean too much for my taste. But maybe since I put them lower, they might thrive. These are the colors that make my heart melt. I love the deep color and can’t wait for them all to bloom.
I like seeing mums in the fall. They really brighten up the landscape before winter approaches.
