Hello Everyone!

Project life layout and cards made with the September kit.

Welcome to my blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft project.

Ok so my lesson I am learning is that I need to have better planning when it comes to challenging myself. My challenge for this blog series is to use my monthly kits creating various paper projects instead of hoarding it before the next kit arrives.  I realize now that I didn’t start this right when I received my September kit so I lost some time.  Which now will create that same lack of time for my October kit.  But I have decided that I am producing fun projects and normally I just look at the pretty supplies and store them in my containers. So I am making it happen.

I used a large portion of the supplies from the kit. I did not use everything but will keep them available for use with my October kit. One thing I don’t think I will use is the letter stickers from Studio Calico.  At least right now I can’t see them in any of my current projects.

I did enjoying using the kit mostly for card making but I am glad April helped me push myself to make a traditional scrapbook LO.

I know I could get one to two more layouts with the remaining kit paper. So I will add it to my October kit. See I made my own add-on without any added expense.

I definitely see me using up that gold paper really fast.  And the sticker element sheet I can use on-going in my Project Life. The colors do coordinate with the Octobe kit so I will definitely pull them in.

Tomorrow I will reveal the October kit and start cranking away since we are nearing the end of October and before you know it my November kit will make an appearance on my doorstep.

Have a blessed day and thank you for checking up on me.

Card for a friend.

I'm here for you...

I’m here for you…

Hello Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. We had a nice weekend with the boys.  Except  Sunday I was blown away by the season finale of one of my favorite shows – Downton Abbey.  I won’t spoil it for any of you that hasn’t watched it yet. Just grab a kleenex. I’m just sayin’.

This week is our February vacation from school so I have reduced my workload and spending more time with the boys. It’s a delicate balance. Today we went out for lunch and they bought some new books (my kids are bookworms like me!).  But I digress…

I began the post with the intention of sharing a recent card I made for my dear friend. I liked it so much I am thinking of making some for my shop.

new product release: HALLOWEEN CARDS!!

Here is one of the new shadowbox Halloween cards (closed)

Hello, I am so excited to release my new Shadow box Halloween cards my Esty shop, Belindas Crafts.  Do have a look so you can see what’s inside of the cards.

It was a bit of a process to get them up and out but I am working on my schedule now that the boys are in school.   These cards are so stinkin’ cute.  I can’t help but peek at them on the shelf.

They are great to display on a desk or shelf.  So kick up your Halloween celebrations with these interactive Halloween cards.

This is a limited edition release for Halloween celebrations but I will be working on some for other upcoming holidays so stay tuned.

WOYWW – #164 – What’s behind the curtain?

My main desk in my craft room.

Hello Everyone!

I am super happy today, my best friend is flying in today from California for her annual visit that I have come to cherish.  We met in college and have stayed in touch over the years and I love her like my sister.

Enough of my chatter. You wonder what’s my title about? Well I have been coaxed by many of you to let my hair down and stop only showing my desk when it’s tidy (a rare thing around here). So today I am letting you begin to peek behind the curtain.

So if you are like me and you click on the photos, they enlarge to show even more detail (in my case “creative clutter”).  I manage to aways store stuff under my desk too. My chair is stragically placed to mask some of the madness under my desk (baby steps, I will share more of my clutter another time).  So when I am creating, I tend to take out a lot and don’t put away much until I finish or I can’t move and then I am forced to put stuff away. Yup, that’s my dirty secret, I tend to make a mess often.  So on my desk you will find some of my Copic markers, some Spellbinder dies that I haven’t put away (the irony is I am making a storage for them and haven’t completed it so I never put them away!).  You will find my momento and Jenni Bowlin ink pads along with my first copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine which most of you know it that are in the U.K. It cost so much here ($11.00 US) so I have never bought it. But with many of the US magazines closing, I took a chance and really enjoy it. So if any of you have old issues you can part with, I welcome donations and willing to exchange my mailing address to do so!! (yup, no pity in asking right?)

New cards I made for my Etsy store.

You will also note on my desk I have a little portfolio/inventory I started working on with all my digi images. It’s the black book on the right.  I started working on this a while back and return to it when I need a break from something else. The three birthday cards I made this week to put up in my Etsy store.  On the left I have two other work in progress cards. One is a gate-fold card that I just had so much fun cutting and scoring them. You will also see a MFT stamp and some greeting stamps and you can see I strung up my washi tape and hung it infront of me. I was inspired by one of your WOYWW’s that did that in their room. I am hoping it will inspire me to use them.  Oh and I have fallen a few days behind on my Italian calender word of the day. Hoping to get back into it.

A close up of the new cards and my digital image inventory.

Ok I will share more of my craft room next time.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Belinda
