What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #185

Hello Everyone!

Holiday cards for the teachers.

Today’s post is going to be brief as I am preparing for my vacation with my family. We are going to Florida to be with family and cousins. So I am finalizing my suitcase which I am so desperately trying not to go over the 50 pound weight limit.

Apollo even wrote his teacher’s name on the card.

On my desk, I whipped up a few cards for my boys’ teachers.  Apollo even wrote his teacher’s name on the front of the card.  And yes, that is washi tape I used on some of the cards.   I think my hoarding days of washi tape just might be over.

His handwriting is so cute.

On Friday of last week an is an unspeakable tragedy left a deep whole in our hearts. An elementary school in  Newton, Connecticut a gunman took the lives of  20 children and 6 adults. We received notice in our boys’ backpacks that our school will be asking for donation of teddy bears to meet a goal of 700 that will be shipped on Saturday to the children from Newton.  So these two cute little teddy bears will be for each of my boys to donate to the children. My prayers go out to the families.

Teddy bears the boys are donating.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #184

Hello Everyone!!

Only a corner of my desk.

I am in the thick of things so the clutter has returned hence the corner of the desk is revealed. My cup of tea and oh so yummy dark chocolate covered shortbread cookies that I have been drooling over at Trader Joe’s are visible. Not for long, I tend to eat them so fast. (Nope, I refuse to look at the serving size for it will ruin the fun!)

In the middle on the stand is my first of many Valentines cards I have made.  She’s so cute I smile every time I pass by my desk and see it.  I used to display more of my work in my craft room but since opening my shop, I tend to securely store them so that they don’t collect dust or get damaged. Guess that means I need to make more stuff for me in here.  Where ever will I find the time!  Laying on the desk is a Christmas card from one of my crafty friends. Her cards are always amazing. You can’t  see it in the picture but in person the trees sparkle.

You can also see some new Valentines greeting farm stamps. I still need to cut them.  That is the only drag about them is that I have to cut them before I can use them.   The stamps next to the mug are two new ones’ I received in the mail recently.  One is an Indian princess and one is  a Chinese Princess. I have so much planned for them. It’s  a new company that I never used before so I hope the impressions are good.

Gift for my new neighbor!

I have  a new neighbor and I like to welcome people they move onto our street. Growing up on Cape Cod, I was used to the  joys of knowing our neighbors. The kids on my street played together and the parents looked out for you (of course then I would call it ratting you out when they saw you on a street you weren’t suppose to be on. Who me? No, I am not  bitter!!)  I loved visiting neighbors with my mum.  So I whipped up a quick card and bought them a little gift.  Once again, a simple card. I usually color the images now that I have my Copics but for time crunch, I didn’t and you know what? I actually really like it like this.

The card I made for them.

Hello Everyone!

Wow we are moving along rather fast and yet another Wednesday has arrived.

Well on my desk you will see lot’s going on.  By the way, in case you didn’t know, if you click on the images on my site, you get an even bigger version (which is perfect for snooping!) I bought another cool container at Target (the grey tweed case) and love it. I bought a matching one that is much larger to hold my magazines next to my comfy chair in my craft room.

Inside the case I have some Copic Markers that need filling (yes the same one’s I mentioned over a month ago that needed filling). The pathetic part is the refill is right there next to them so what’s the hold up?  I also have all my new Valentines (yes you heard correctly) stamps and goodies in there.

Lots of goodies on my desk.

I am slowly getting used to the retail schedule and this first year of Etsy I am mostly playing catch up which doesn’t exactly boost sales. So about a week ago I started scouring the internet to find some Valentines products. Of course I had to buy the cute little MFT stamp you see there of the girl holding chocolates. So very cute. I also just received yesterday, the Martha Stewart washi tape. It’s so pretty. One has hearts, and I am not sure which is my favorite the one with the envelop and heart with the word love or the pretty vines with flowers and hearts.  Plan on using it rather than hording which is what I usually tend to do with my washi tape.

Gearing up for Valentines Cards

You can also see a C.C. Designs stamp for valentines day. I have been branching out in the stamp companies and this is one of the first C.C. Designs so I am super excited to try it out.  I also snagged the little heart punch at Michaels a few days ago.  And finally I pulled out my last year valentines’ 6×6 pads. I also bought one that I thought I could use for more masculine cards. It was on clearance — a word that is music to my ears.

On the left you can see I stamped up a bunch of another Christmas image and stamped up some pattern paper for some paper piercing out of the Crate paper ‘Peppermint’ paper pack. Can’t wait to see how she turns out.

Card I just made for a dear friend of mine.

I just made this quick card for one of my friends and thought  I would share it. It’s can funny how things come together when you don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I somehow whip them up quick but like I said before, I can take way too long on my cards for my shop.  Oh and I am proud to say that yes that is some washi tape  I used on the right side of the card.  I am such a hoarder but I am glad I parted with some for this card.

Still plowing through my Project Life. I printed a bunch of photos yesterday and plan to print  another batch today.  At this rate, I actually might actually complete it by the end of the month. A feat I am not taking lightly.

Put  up Christmas decor in the house this past weekend and my sweet husband put up lights on the house.  Tonight we go buy a tree  and I have been playing my Christmas music since the day after Thanksgiving.  So we are full throttle in our home.  On December 1st we even had a little snow, which has since melted but fun to look at while it came down.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #182

Hello Everyone!

Wow, what a week. We had a great holiday with family. Great food fun and lots of games played.

Project Life in overdrive

Speed Project Life – Yup, that’s what is happening on my desk. I have managed to get behind farther than I care to admit but ego has me pushing through to complete it by December 18th. That’s my date. I am going away for holiday so I need to have it completed by then.  I will at the vacation week when I get home.  So I am going through the photos and printing them and then going back later to journal and pretty them up.

Working on new card.

I am working on yet another Christmas card. I had this image colored up for weeks so now I am finally giving it at home.  I found a sketch I liked in a magazine so I am going to use it as a guide.    Yes that is  a chocolate bar you see. Can’t a girl have

Well I think the general theme for me until after the New Year, is short and sweet posts.
