Well hello to you! We had a great week last week. Summer camp stopped for the 4th of July celebrations so the we all headed to my in-laws for a few days for family fun. My niece and nephew were in from Florida for a week so the kids spent all the days together playing (and a little fighting) and laughing.  It was really hot and humid but no rain so I am not totally whining.

The food was yummy and the kids played in the pool all day which led to lots of near sun-burns! My niece and I made patriotic cupcakes that were so very yummy.  There were lots of games played, UNO, Trouble, Charades to name a few.

We went to an indoor water park for one day and went to see the new movie, “Despicable Me 2” at the theater and we completed our fun yesterday with the kids all over here at our home with another barbecue and playing WiiU (apparently the big thing to do.).

Enjoying watermelon has to be one of Apollo's favorite things to do.

Although it wasn’t a complete week, it felt like a week and the kids had a great time. I snapped photos as usual for later use in my scrapbooks and soaked in the fun they were having. Sad to see our family go back to Florida. Possibly another 5 months before we are together again but I am grateful for the time we had this past week.

Today is back to Summer Camp for the boys and back to my craft room.

Hope you all have a blessed week!

Hello July!

Hi everyone! It’s been way too long. I have been helping the boys wrap up from the end of the school year and now today is their first day of Summer Enrichment program. We had so many snow days that we only had a few days off before they had to start their summer program.  This is Nicholas 3rd year participating and Apollo’s second. I am very excited because this year they are focusing on learning about the country, Madagascar and they will learn some French as well as some sign language.

12th anniversary

12th anniversary

Yesterday was our twelfth wedding anniversary and in a few weeks we are going to really celebrate with a getaway to the Cape (kid free)! I love Leao so much and am happy we reached this amazing milestone in our journey together.

Today I am trying to organize so that I can be productive this month while they attend camp.  Right now, I am organizing my Silhouette files and working on Project Life. Major catch up is in progress!!

We are blessed to have family visiting from Florida and the boys will have a little over a week to play with their cousins. I am so happy because it’s a very special time that they only get to see each other a couple times a year.  So swimming, movies, games, and cooking out is on our list of many things to do.

I am going to get back to my work but wanted to check in and say I hope you have a blessed day!

Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to share my latest entry for Mo’s Digital challenge. I couldn’t resist because the theme is Summertime and she has the cutest summer digis.

I even found some shells around the house to use as props. The big one on the left is from  my vacation with my best friend to Jamaica.

Loads of fun playing around with the images and coloring them up with my Copics. I also got a chance to cut a cute title from my brand spankin’ new Silhouette!! I used my Heidi Swapp color shine on the water and paper pierced the water and sand.

I want to eat her popsicle!!

I added dimension by coloring up a second set of sunglasses and curling the edges. For the popsicle and used dimensional dots and put glossy accents on it for shine.

Card ingredients:

Copics: Due to lack of time, I didn’t right down what I used. Sorry.

Digital Stamps: beach (includes tons of elements), Summer boy, summer girl, beach pail (from beach)

Silhouette: Hello Summer

Other:  Glossy accents, Heidi Swapp Color Shine (mint green)

Thanks for visiting!

Creative Mojo….where are you?

Hello Everyone!  I am so sorry I have been so bad not writing much here. I am experiencing a creative slump. My mojo is nowhere to be found. My ideas that typically flood my mind are trickling in and leaving me feeling less than inspired to sit at my craft table. It’s almost embarrassing to say this because it is not the lack of product in my room that is making me feel this way but my usual desire has taken a little vacation.

This time of year tends to do this to me. I am an avid gardener and as soon as spring begins, I want to be in the garden. Another thing that zaps my creative flow is the ending of the school year for my boys. There seems to be more tests, reports and school events that require my attention and for some reason they tend to zap my energy.

I used to fear these times because I would think to myself  “What if I don’t feel inspired again?”  And then I would add more stress to the situation. But now I am learning that there is an ebb and flow to everything.  That even my craft can and will have periods of stillness.  So rather than fight it and stress I am just sitting with it and trying to enjoy the calm before my creative mojo kicks in and I am doing just that by reading books. Reading is one of my all time favorite things to do and lately I am doing quite a bit while on break from my craft table.

How do you all get out of your creative slumps? I am open to new inspirations.

Have a blessed day!

Belinda
