#WriteOn campaign

ATC1Today I mailed off the March ATCs from my monthly ATC Swap. I love knowing that I am a part of this fun and also that I can send off some happy mail to some of my crafty girlfriends.

April is National Letter Writing month. I enjoy receiving mail and miss receiving hand-written letters in the mail. Email and texting seems to dominate the norm of communications these days so I am naturally drawn to the celebration of the written letter.

Naturally I found an online campaign promoted by the founder of Egg Press, that is called, Write_on.  It is a challenge to write 30 letters in 30 days during the month of April. So I have taken it upon myself to go for it. Watch the video or read more about this challenge at www.writeoncampaign.com

Since I was already going to mail out the ATC packages, I went ahead and wrote notes to each person. Since I had 8 people to mail to, I can subtract 8 letters from my 30 for this month.

If you find time, whether you want to challenge yourself to 30 letters or cards,  or just write one letter this month. It’s great for the postal service and it’s great for you and the recipient.

It also helps me with my OLW (one little word) for this year – Connect. It is another way for me to connect with family and friends.

Have a blessed day friends!

Nothing ruins Happy Mail day quite like a Jury Duty Notice

IMG_9469I was so happy a few minutes ago. Some happy mail was delivered to my mail box. I received some goodies from Simon Says Stamps and Whimsy Stamps.  But before I could break out into my happy dance I saw another piece of mail in the back of the box. The one with the dreaded blue line…Jury Duty!!!!

I decided to open it first to find out what day I would be spending quality time with a bunch of strangers- June 23rd. I feel like something is going on that day but not sure. Either way, it really made opening my Happy Mail a bit of a downer. So I will share my new goodies with you later. Now I must go and sulk. I still meet people that have never been called. I, on the other hand, have had my fair share thank you very much.

Have a blessed day friends and watch out for the dreaded blue lined envelope!!!

Haulin’ It!! — Patterned paper

march2015paperhaulAI am working on a project for my son’s class to pick up a few things and then I came across one of those sales that you can’t pass up. The 12×12 paper pads that are normally $19.99 were on sale for $5.99. That’s the price I pay for 6×6 pads. So needless to say, three pads jumped into my basket.  I thought I would share a few pages that I really liked at of each pad.  Since sometimes it’s hard to know from just the picture of the covers of them.

march2015paperhaulBCome on…teacups, you know I had to have this paper. I love the pastel colors. I could even simply cut one out and put on the front of a card.

march2015paperhaulCThis one makes me think of pretty wrapping paper. It’s prettier in person.

march2015paperhaulDButterflies..need I say more. Ok for those who don’t know me, I love butterflies and elephants. So if a craft product has either, I must have it.

march2015paperhaulEThere are also some pretty vibrant colors included too that will be great for some of my summer projects.

march2015paperhaulGCan’t get enough of floral patterns.  Will look pretty on a card or a home decor project.

march2015paperhaulIAnd finally what would spring projects be without umbrellas? So happy this page was included.

So that’s it for my patterned paper haul from Michael’s. If you get a chance to pick them up, I think they are worth the money.

30-Day Coloring Challenge: Day 5 – Gift boxes

challenge_graphic-4-revised

Oh today was a bit trickier. I am still visiting with family today. But I ran into the dining room with my Copics and got to coloring. I colored up another image from the PowerPoppy set.  This image is so cute and I definitely want to use it on come birthday cards. I like coloring presents. I used some go to color combos. I didn’t finish the image because we need to go soon. I am trying to decide if I want to make the flowers a yellow shade or violet. Suggestions welcome.

day4a

I also printed up the color chart for the Copics. I haven’t done this in a long time and have new colors that aren’t on the old chart.

day4bIt looks like I have less markers now. Guess I need to go marker shopping!!

Well I am so pleased that I made it to day 5 of this challenge. I always start strong and then drop off but I am determined to keep on. Thanks for taking the ride with me.
