What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #467

Good morning my crafty WOYWW friends! For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday),  head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

I didn’t continue on the page I was coloring last week. I will get to it but with coloring, I tend to jump around a bit. I used to get worked up if I didn’t finish one page before starting another but I find that I am in a different mood each time I sit down to color and since right now I am itching to get into my garden I thought I would color flowers in another book. This book is called In My Garden and it’s illustrated by Jean Sanders.

Yesterday I decided to find a cutfile to create some cute spring decor in my craft room. I found this cute cherry blossom lantern cutfile. I had to dig thru and find some vellum in my paper stash to cut the sheets that would go behind the flowers. I decided to go with this bright fuschia colored paper to cut the base.

I can put electric votives in them at night for a pretty effect. But for now, I just like them as is and I decided to put them on my gallery wall.

One of my dear friends is coming to visit today so I won’t be able to visit all of your desks today but I will visit over the next few days.

Have a crafty day!

Belinda

  1. Hi Belinda, I love how the lanterns look on your display. I can just imagine them lit up at night once you put the battery tea lights in them. Enjoy your visit. Sarah #9

  2. Hi belinda, love the lanterns. So pretty. I too am in love with the colour of your walls! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz XxX #10

  3. Love that bright pink! I see nothing wrong with having more than one colouring book on the go, I work in several journals at once too…. gotta be done! Helen #2

    • Helen you know I never thought of it in that way. Like you said, many people work on a variety of journals. So I shall release the guilt and enjoy the process because that’s all that matters in the end! Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hi Belinda. They are lovely boxes – and will look fantastic with battery candles in them. Well done.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. I love those lanterns! The combination of shocking pink and silvery grey background is a great one, they look fab on your shelves like that. And I’m pleased to find someone else who jumps around the colouring pages, I never seem to finish any page I start!

  6. Sorry for the late visit. A huge storm knocked out my electricity and internet about the time I began visiting. But I’m here now and I simply adore those pink lanterns. They fit SO well on your shelves. They make lovely vignettes. Happy WOYWW from #3.

    • Oh wow, a storm! I hope your electricity wasn’t out for very long. We all see how much we value electricity when the power goes out. My kids hate it – no wifi!

  7. Loving the lanterns, they look gorgeous. They look great on the shelf too. Happy woyww, Angela x23x

  8. Those Lanterns really do look lovely, I bet they look fabulous at nighttime when lit up.
You are not the only one who flips from on drawing page to another, I tend to do it when using the same colour it certainly spends up the finished process.
Thank you for sharing WOYWW so tidy!!

Hi again Belinda. I’m sorry you are struggling with allergies this week. The hayfever is going mad here – I reckon it’s the oil seed rape in so many fields. However… Thanks for visiting – in answer to your question about the dolls and bags. Yes – we as a church support Parental Care Ministries UK http://www.pcmuk.org/ Overseen in Uganda by Pastor Emmanuel Nyanzi his heart is for the children of Uganda to have love, care, attention, education. Consequently, we support two schools out there, developing relationship with the staff and the pupils. Teams go out each year to visit, take what is needful, etc. The bags have a Bible in each one and are given to the children when they move into P4 – Primary 4 means they are sufficiently good readers to own, read, and cherish their very own Bible. Over the years we have set up a food programme at both schools, dormitories at one so the children can board during the week, thus saving them incredibly long walks each day, purchased a field to grow food to eat and sell, and more recently been involved in helping to set up two businesses – one making school exercise books, the other establishing a piggery – to teach the children good husbandry, feed them, and be able to sell the meat. Hope that all helps.
    Take care. God bless.

    • Margaret that is fantastic! I checked out the link and it looks like great work you all are doing. I know the kids are really going to love their bags with the doll and bible. My allergies seem to be lingering. I caved and bought some allergy medicine but hoping the upcoming rain will settle things down outside. Have a blessed day!
