Today is day 7 of the challenge and this is all I could complete for my coloring today. Super Bowl Sunday is to blame.
About a week ago, I did a no-no and had my tea on my desk while working. I somehow bumped the table and my hex chart was ruined. So today I squeezed in a little time to begin coloring up a new chart. I’m not sure I can count it for the challenge but I thought I would share it anyway.

Hello Everyone! It’s day 6 of the coloring challenge. Today I was able to complete the image I started coloring yesterday and make a card.
I picked one of the stamps out of the Basic Grey ‘Amour’ stamp set and used my MISTI to stamp it. I used a coordinating Memento ink called Lilac Posies to stamp it and then I used my Copic to color in part of the I and U. I like that the sentiment looks hand-drawn.
Then I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder ‘Cross My Heart’ and embossed a white piece of cardstock. I took two of the Copics I used on her to color in random hearts and then colored clear Wink of Stella so they would sparkle!
I am loving this color combination and stamped up a few more sentiments in the same color so I can make a few more cards like this.
I added a gemstone for her head adornment from my old stash.
It’s a fun and the colors are bright and cheerful. I hope you have time to squeeze in some coloring. I am so happy I did. See you tomorrow!

Hello Everyone! It’s day 3 of the coloring challenge. Today it is pretty gray outside with rain fast approaching. Pretty much arriving in time for pick up, I’m sure. So it’s perfect for tea, music and coloring.
I used another Saturated Canary digi for today’s card. As I mentioned in reply to a comment yesterday, some days I struggle with sentiments. I thought I wanted to use the ‘Fight Like a Girl’ sentiment commonly used on Breast Cancer cards and could not locate my stamp. So instead of eating up time in the search, I decided to color then worry about that.
When I saw this image I thought of warrior, strength and then I remembered I have this great embossing folder of gears that made me think of steampunk and thought it might compliment this image quite nice. I also used paper from Basic Grey’s Highline line. I am sad to say this company has gone out of business recently and they are one of my favorites. I liked the paper that looked like fire in this line so that is the one I chose for this card.
I colored her up with my Copics with muted colors to practice creating the metallic look. But in the future I would like to try something vibrant and funky. This is the year of experimenting and getting out of my comfort zone so I will share when I give it a try.
I love this sentiments stamp set from My Favorite Things and decided I could use this on my card.
I used my MISTI tool to align the words where I wanted them. I ended up deciding to overlap some of the words across the image so I inked it and stamped a few times for a dark impression. Normally I wouldn’t do this but I wanted to see how it would look. I like the overlap on the ‘Amazing’ but not as much on the ‘are’.
I cut down the image and matted it on the Basic Grey paper and attached it the embossed cardstock. I love how I can’t help touch the gears when I hold this card.
This angle you can see the gears better. One thing I will do next time is wait longer after I color the light blue on the bottom of the card because it caused the ‘z’ to blur a little. (yup, self-critic can’t help herself!).

Hello Everyone! I am still loving this challenge. I went away last Thursday and the internet access was spotty so I only managed to post one update via my Instagram. So I decided now that I am home, I can share what coloring I have been doing for the past 5 days.
I have yet to recap and post a blog on my weekend away but I will soon. During that time I spent four days with some of the most creative women I know up in the mountains in Jackson New Hampshire at a cozy Inn.
On Day 16, I wanted to explore water coloring. Despite my nice accumulation of watercolor products, I hadn’t even cracked the seal on most. My latest purchase was a set of 24 Derwent Inktense Watercolor pencils. So on my first day up in Jackson, I opened them up and started playing. The first thing I would say is that they are very neat and no worry of cross contaminating the water brush I used with them. What drew me to them in the first place was the vibrant colors. Typically water coloring is very muted, mostly pastel in color. But you can achieve vibrant colors if you choose to work with these pencils.
On Day 17, I returned to my Copics and colored up a Saturated Canary image with some new copic colors that I recently purchased. She is so pretty and girly and I love everything about this image.
On Day 18, I played with watercolor again (round 2) and the butterflies didn’t come out how I would like the first time around but will continue to work on it. I also made some pretty cards with the flowers I water colored. I can’t wait to try them with my Copics. It’s fun seeing the different results. I want to offer some water colored products soon so this play time is with the intention of gaining some skills.
On Day 19 was off to shop with Ashley and travel home! Yup, no coloring.
On Day 20 was my first day back home in my craft room. I needed to begin the process which takes me a while to put all my craft supplies back from my trip. I wish I could say I finished putting everything away but that is a lie and my family might call me on it, since they see my craft room everyday. But I am sure everything will return to it’s proper place soon.
On Day 21, I only had 5 minutes between errands and appointments and catching up on work. So I began coloring up an old digital file from Mo Manning. I used her last Easter and will do it again. She and the bunny are just so cute, I can’t help but say awww every time I see this image. Mo is one of my favorite digital designers by far.
On Day 22, One again, nothing. Homework with the boys and work for me. So not coloring.
I am really trying to stick to this challenge. It is difficult on some days and others, very easy, but I am sticking with it. I do find posting it on my blog takes a lot more time so in the future I think I will continue my updates on my Instagram account. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
