Hello everyone! It is a cold gray rainy day here. I ran out this morning before it started raining and I began blowing and then bagging leaves in my side yard to prepare for leaf pick up tomorrow. It was quite funny if you could have seen me rushing to beat the rain. Which it won out towards the end, but I had to see it through. We still have so much more leaves but I like when they pick up the bags instead of us having to haul them to our compost site.
I had a fantastic weekend. I spent all day and evening with my crafty divas and as always I leave feeling so happy and inspired. The variety of the crafts taking place in that one room was mind-blowing. From sewing, crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking, cardmaking, wreath-making, creating holiday items to creating shadow boxes. It is so amazing and never will I take their friendship or our gatherings for granted. It’s truly magical and I am blessed to be a part of it. Above is a photo of some of the things I worked on while I was there. Oh, and I didn’t even mention the food. So many yummy options including desserts!
Let’s see on the renovations front, we finally selected a carpet and we should receive a confirmation once it’s in for the installation date. But I think no later than the first week in December. The painting has begun but we ran into a bit of a problem with the roller so Leao is going to try something else to see if he can get a better application before we proceed with the color. I am quite nervous because I am going from white walls to a deep rich color. I am so tired of hospital white walls in my home that I am slowly moving towards color. So I will share photos as soon as we finalize the color.
My boys are doing well. Nick got his first XBox gaming system last Tuesday and he is on cloud nine. Both of them are getting excited to be spending the holidays with my in-laws again. We have such an amazing time and I love seeing my in-laws soak up their grandkids. It’s quite special. I am so grateful they have each other.
Well, I am off to do a little work and a little laundry and then I have a date with my book because it is just that kind of day!!
Have a blessed day!

Happy Monday! What time is it? Well, I had every intention of writing this post and pushing it live by 9:30 this morning before I began work cleaning out my desk. Well, I woke surprisingly early despite daylight savings and completed my morning workout, then headed to make the boys lunch for today. But wait…no bread!!!! Arrrrrggg!! So I tell them both that I will pick up bread when I run to grocery shop and then drop off their lunches. I run my errands and drop off the boys lunches then I go to make their beds (yup, I’m back to making them on weekdays because they will never get out on time) and realize they didn’t wash their sheets this weekend so off the sheets must come and of course my planned 2 loads of clothes today must be bumped back to wash sheets. Ahhhh!! I almost made matters worse by boiling some eggs for a late morning snack when I realized it was Meatless Monday. Luckily I remembered so this morning has not been a complete epic fail!

My hydrangea didn’t bloom this year and all of the sudden two stems have bloomed! Crazy. I will walk among my plants until it gets too cold looking to see what they are doing. Even the ones that are preparing for the winter are fun to observe. I like all stages of my plants’ cycle.
I love how the underside of the butterfly wings are lighter. I will have to remember that when coloring in butterfly images with my Copics. I like using images of nature in my garden for color inspirations when coloring.
This one let me get so close and then I set my phone for close up photos and captured this beauty. I don’t take their visit for granted because I am aware of all the damage chemicals and pesticides are creating for our birds and insects. I hope we will always be blessed with their visits.
Well hello and happy Monday to you! October has been quite a busy month. My niece and nephew already celebrated their birthday earlier this month and we celebrated my father-in-law’s birthday this weekend with lobster and games. But today is one very special day for me because of the fact that the most important woman in my life was born … my mom. She passed on in 2007 but she has not faded from my heart and mind.
As I get older sometimes I catch myself dreading the number I will become each year but I really need to celebrate them all because it is such a blessing to be here with my family and friends. That is what I should focus on rather than dread “getting older”. Remind me I said that on my next birthday!!
On another note, last week we have begun the process of renovating our bedroom. So to say my house is in disarray is quite the understatement. We are sleeping in our guest bedroom, furniture is everywhere especially in my craft room, we can only use one bathroom (thank the stars I had boys or I would go insane). But when it’s complete, I know it will be so worth the wait and inconvenience.
Leao is doing all of the renovations and he has begun with the removal of the popcorn ceiling. Then he will do any patching and then he will install crown molding. I love the one he put in the boy’s bedroom so that is the one I selected for ours. This is the original color the room was when we bought this house so many years ago. But I have selected a very bold, deep color that I will share when we get to that stage.
