30 Day Coloring Challenge #4: Day 30 – Distress Inks Meets Copics

logo

Hello Everyone! I did it!! I completed my 30-day Coloring Challenge. It took me a while to get to Day 30 but here we are and I am really happy I tried this challenge again.

day30a I pulled out my distress inks, cardstock tag, a stencil, a digital stamp and my Copics to create my day 30 project. I have had these tags around for a long time and this seemed like the right time to break one out and use it as a base for the project.

day30bI taped the stencil down so that it wouldn’t move while I put down the distress inks. I selected three colors: Cracked pistachio, fossilized amber, and abandoned coral.

day30cI love how these colors blend and compliment each other. They definitely remind me of Easter so I think it was a perfect selection for the digital stamp I selected.

day30dWhen I removed the stencil I just loved the result. Apollo happened to be in the room and said he wanted me to make an additional one he could use for a bookmark. What a pretty bookmark this makes too.

day30eI also grabbed this mini card set from my recent Michael’s Haul from the Recollections’ Color splash line. It already had the sentiment on it so all I needed to do was add color. So I used the same three distress inks.

day30fI love that I can use the distress inks on these products too.

day30gI picked this Saturated Canary digital stamp to add to the project. I had this already cut out. I often cut digital stamps out in varying sizes so that I can use them on different projects so this one was the perfect size for a tag.

day30h I used my Hex Chart to find coordinating colors in my Copics stash to use to color her up.  The final product came out so cute. It’s a vary happy tag and makes me think of spring, Easter and joy!

I will be creating one last post with a wrap-up of the 30 days for this coloring challenge. I enjoyed it and love all the fun things I was able to make with my commitment to color for a minimum of 10 minutes each day.

Happy coloring friends!

30 Day Coloring Challenge #4: Day 20 Quick coloring of a princess

logoHello everybody! It’s Wednesday and I don’t know about you but it’s a dreary, cold, rainy day over here. I would love to curl under my favorite blanket with tea and a book but work calls me. I’m on cup number 2 of some delicious lemon green tea (shh..don’t tell my dentist) and the day isn’t even half over. Oh boy!

So I have a big list of things to do for work today so my coloring session was shorter than I had hoped. I printed up the cutest digi from Faery Ink. I discovered her amazing art on Instagram and have been a great fan since. Her stamps are so cute and really fun to color. So you will be seeing more here on my site as I begin to play with them more. For today’s image, I selected Princess of Hearts Fable and began coloring her.

day20aFirst thing I did was bring her cuteness into Silhouette and then started brainstorming the message I wanted her to convey on a card. Then I searched my quotes collection and then I designed the cover with the words Be you.  If you come back tomorrow, I will share the very beautiful sentiment I used for the inside of the card once I complete coloring.

day20bAs usual I started coloring the skin and hair first. I didn’t intend on having the highlights but then decided to leave them. Some days I can pick colors quickly and then other days, I struggle. Today was the later and I finally decided to color the chair cushions with the other color I was thinking about.

day20cIt was kind of regal so I thought that shade of blue worked. But then I am stumped on the hearts, her tights and shoes so I will pause here and return to it tomorrow with a fresh perspective to complete this card.

Happy coloring everyone!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

anniversaryHappy World Cardmaking Day! I thought I would share with you a card I made for my sister’s anniversary.  I used the amazing Mo Manning’s digi of this lovely bride and groom and colored them up with my Copics.  I love the fall color of the envelop I used from Paper Source.

anniversary2I have quite a lot of embossing plates (many unused) so I pulled out one that I thought looked elegant and embossed a white piece of cardstock that I attached to the front of the card.

anniversary3Again the beauty of using digital stamps is that you can resize he images. So I decided to make them companion bookmarks. I used an MFT bookmark die to cut the bookmarks. anniversary4Then I used a really great hemp cord to attach these beautiful vintage soaring bird charms from Maya Roads that I bought years ago. I get so happy when I actually use up my supplies!

anniversary5I hope you all have a great day and maybe find time to make a little card today for World Cardmaking Day!

30-Day Coloring Challenge: Day 11 – Hummingbird happenings

challenge_graphic-4-revisedOk, I am still sharing even if I literally only had 5 minutes to color. I have another digi from Just Inked that I am coloring. I liked it because it has a hummingbird which is my favorite. Just working on the leaves today.

day11I was too busy to sit and color more. But I didn’t want to miss a day.  Tomorrow I will finish coloring this image and share it with you.

Happy coloring!
