What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #200

The happenings on my desk.

The happenings on my desk.

Hello Everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  Today I cracked open a new Cricuit cartridge I bought recently and boy am I a happy girl.  I got lost cutting up some cards.  This one is called Creative Cards and to be honest, I wasn’t so impressed with the cover cards but a good crafter always knows you can make things your own. So I can see endless possibilities using this cartridge. I haven’t assembled them yet because I had to get Apollo out of school early today to go to the dentist and then he was home and required some supervision.  But I will share some cards as I complete them.

On the left of my desk you can see a new Basic Grey paper pad called “Bowties”. I am always on the hunt for nice masculine papers. The colors in this one is are very vibrant and there is one with vintage cars that I simply have to use.  Underneath it is the such a cute frame I bought on clearance at Home Goods.  I need to print our family Easter picture and will put it in it for my craft room. Oh and you can see a new water bottle. It is suppose to filter regular tap water but I still run the water through my Brita filter before putting it in this bottle. Kinda defeating the purpose you say? Yes indeed.

Near the back are some really $1 cute wooden pieces I bought at Michaels. I plan on using the bird and flower on some garden albums. You can also see my Easter basket I made for myself (yup, I said me.) I put my jelly beans in it.

Wooden goodies I got for a dollar each at Michael's.

Near my lamp, you will see a stinkin’ (yes, I said stinkin’) Jury Summons.  I am being called for Jury duty in June. I think I am the most unlucky when it comes to this. I have gone more than my fair share. I am however, very blessed that I did not have to actually serve on a jury. I just typically get stuck in a room with a “interesting” mix of people.

Anyway that is me for today. Provided, no medical emergencies, I will have time to snoop on some desks.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #199

Hello!! I hope you are all doing well. It is Tuesday night and I am typing this post early as usual. I don’t have time to do it on Wednesday’s but let’s just say, nothing is going to change on my desk between Tuesday night and Wednesday. So that being said, here is a peek:

Copic Coloring practice

I have decided to really buckle down and practice my coloring to get to the next level. So today I hunkered down with tea, music and my markers. I colored the clouds and some suns.  Tomorrow I will do a little more and so on. I tend to practice in spurts so I want something more consistent.

I also wanted to say I had a blast on my recent craft retreat.

I was able to work on several projects. I made this mini album. You can see more here!

Well I am off to go snoop around the globe.

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #198

Hello Everyone!

My initial planning

My initial planning

I hope you all are well.  We just had another storm here in the north eastern US again.  Snow. I am so ready for it to be over and spring to truly appear.

6x6 paper pads for card-making

I am in extra happy spirits for many reasons today, one is that I reached my first year anniversary selling online at Belinda’s Crafts on Monday.

Another reason I am so happy is tomorrow I leave for my annual girlfriend craft retreat. This year it will be 20 of us in a really amazing cozy inn in Jackson NH.  I usually go for 3 days but add another this year to really have fun with the girls.  As many of you may know, preparing for a crop can be a full time job in itself.  I always plan to bring less.  I am not sure I succeeded but I plan on working on some cards for my shop, dabble with a mixed media project, work on the structure for a mini album and get caught up on my Project Life album.  When I had spread out everything on floor in my craftroom to determine what would make the cut, my husband saw it and said, “It looks like your desk threw up.”

I love using the sterilite to transport projects.

So we will see what I am actually able to acheive. I am a big believer in the balance of the social aspect of crops and that you have to have a mix the crafting with the talk.  So I don’t have a goal this time around.

I am going to keep this short and wish you all a great week.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – 197

Hello Everyone!

Wow how quickly the time flies by each week. I am always amazed at how soon it’s Wednesday again (or Tuesday for people like me that write the night before).

Easter cards for Belinda's Crafts

Easter cards for Belinda’s Crafts

On my desk I have layed out all of my Easter cards I made for my shop this past week.  I just love the happy soft colors of spring papers. They are a joy to work with.  To the left you can see the Stampin up paper I used on the cards.

Next I need to photograph them for Etsy. So you can see them better on there very soon.

On top of them are some new inks I just received in the mail. I received one months ago in one of my monthly craft kits and finally got around to using one.  And as you might guess, I really like them. So I ordered a bunch more colors. I use them like I used the Colorbox cats’ eye ink pads. I generally use them for inking edges of paper.  But the beauty of using these are that they have a little handle built into them so that you really have better control and less on your fingers.  Needless to say I can’t wait to play with them.

In the back is some new Mo’s digital images printed and ready to be colored.  I also finally bought some refill for my tuxedo black Momento ink pad.

On the  right you can see some of my Copics in plastic containers. This is because I have yet to commit to buying another Copic case.

Up near my calender is some Queen and Company twine I have been reunited with recently. In other words, I found it in one of my creative chaos piles and didn’t remember I even had it. Pathetic I tell you.  But I am happy because the colors work well with my current projects.  And at least I found it before I purchased another one.  I’m just sayin’…

On the far right is my baby, my Nook HD. It is no secret I love to read and lately  I have been plowing through books. It’s been great.  If you are ever looking for a great read, just check out my reviews.

Anyhow I am off to go check out your desks.
