Fun Photos Friday #30: Brotherly love

funphotofriday30aI still love capturing the boys moments together.  This is them looking at a book Nicholas checked out of the library. I love how they don’t even realize they are sitting alike.

funphotofriday30bI came a little closer so I could see what they were reading.  Some graphic novel, I think.

As I watched them, they decided to take the fun to a reclined position.  Sorry for the blur but they were wiggling and I was rushing to get the shot.

funphotofriday30dNicholas read to his brother. I love hearing them read.  I can’t help but smile when I see them play together and especially when they read to each other. Now that’s brotherly love in action.

Have a blessed weekend friends!

Fun Photos Friday #29: Being Productive.

funphotofriday29

Hmm..the boys are now back at school.  It’s a wonderful feeling being able to cross things off your list, prepare for the next day (lunches, clothes), make beds, do a load of laundry, actually get work done at my desk and then still have time for an hour of reading before the boys come home.  I do love how productive I can be while they are in school.  It lifts that daily burden and let’s me fly.

Today I am having another one of those days and I am going to cherish it.

I hope you are having a good day and have a great weekend!

Fun Photos Friday #27: The Making of a Ship

funphotofriday27a

There are times when I don’t give my kids enough credit for taking a break from their electronics and making something. Recently, my oldest took a box and decided he wanted to make a ship.  I couldn’t see it at first but he had the vision to create one so I quickly obliged him.

funphotofriday27dHe did all of the drawings and figured out how he wanted it configured. I provided tape, scrapbook paper a straw and I used my Silhouette to cut out an anchor and the name he wanted for the ship.

funphotofriday27bHe equipped it with people and ladders and the works.

funphotofriday27gI really was happy that it was created by him with a little help from me using basic materials. I will have to remember it when I get ready to complain to him again about not doing more creative things.

funphotofriday27c

These are the important times I want him to remember and share with his children.  The gadgets are great and have value but the tactile creative stuff just feels so right.

funphotofriday27fIf you look on the left corner you can see he even created a plank.  So don’t make this captain mad or you just might get your walking papers!

funphotofriday27eHe even personalized it so you know who made it.  I will have to try to create more opportunities for activities like these this summer.

The ship is now sitting up on top of his dresser for public viewing.

Have a blessed day and a great weekend!

Fun Photos Friday #23: Movie Theater Adventures

funphotofriday25

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!  I can’t believe how fast this week went by. It has been spring break for my boys and we had a pretty fun week. On Wednesday, I took them to lunch and then we went to the theater to see, “Mr. Peabody and Sherman”.  But when we got there, this amazing display was up for Rio 2.  I told the boys to pose for me. And I was definitely the crazy mom that made them wait until all the people were out of the shot.  I hate when you take a picture and there is a random person’s arm in the frame.  I love how both of them, despite my telling them to look at me are looking to the side. They both have the same fake smile and are looking out of the frame. I also love how their coats match the birds.

I am going to do some crafting this morning and then wrap up our Earth day crafts with the boys this afternoon.  I hope you all have a great weekend.
