Fun Photos Friday #22: Meet Wand!

funphotofriday24Meet ‘Wand’, yes his name is Wand.  Apollo created him in school this week with the room mothers.  I tried to get more explanation out of Apollo why the name but it was vague and has slipped my mind.  What a cute little craft that doesn’t require that much supplies. He must of had fun sticking all those Qtips into the foam ball.  When he came out of school the nose had fallen off but once we got home I used my glue to re-attach it and all was well again.

Some of the crafts the boys bring home are so cute. I asked if Wand could stay on my desk but right after I took this photo, Apollo took him and put him on his desk.  Oh well, at least I have the picture.

Have a wonderful weekend friends.

Fun Photos Friday #21: Outdoor Reading

Hello, happy Friday!

I think every year we welcome spring with open arms. The winters seem to be becoming more brutal and down right freezing.  So it makes the yearning for spring strong.  We have as you may have seen in older posts, a screened in deck.  During the winter we move things to our garage and throw a tarp over the table and chairs.  When we think it’s time, we will clean off everything and out will come all my pillows and decor and that becomes our sanctuary.

While it is still not quite warm enough, there is still another little place that is one of my favorite reading nooks that I can enjoy even before we can pull out the deck stuff. It’s on the stairs on the side that leads up to the deck.  It always gets really sunny and warm here. So on decent days recently I have come to spend my lunch hour reading and eating there.  Yesterday two beautiful Crocuses greeted me while I sat to read.  They are the first bloomers in my yard and they are sure sign of the warmth to come. Wahoo!!

I thought my book would look nice next to the flowers for the photo and help represent one of my favorite things to do – reading in nature. I am listening to one book club book on audio and reading a book from the library for another book club.  This one is an African American Historical fiction.  I will be sure to put a review up when I complete both.

Well I hope you all get to find some time with nature even a few minutes. After this long winter, I welcome every opportunity.

Have a blessed weekend!

Fun Photos Friday #20: Fun times at IKEA

funphotofriday20

Happy Friday!!! I love Fridays. I always wake up happy because I know I have two days off from the regular routine and more time for fun.

On our recent trip to IKEA I snapped a few photos and thought hmmm these would be good for Fun Photos Friday.  I am not sure about others but my family gets pretty pumped when we get to go to IKEA.  It is about a 35 minute drive from our home.  Everyone in our family has different reasons for the excitement. My husband, I would guess he likes the idea of saving money and DIY stuff, the boys love the cafe. I like walking the floors and finding inspiration in their layouts. I enjoy finding things for my craft room.  On this trip I bought the ever so popular kitchen cart to use in my craft room. I am working on my first video to put on this site and it will feature the cart and how I store my Project Life supplies in it.  So stay tuned.

funphotofriday21We went early and did all of our shopping and then Leao and Nicholas put them in the car while Apollo and I waited for them in the showroom before heading to the cafe.  Well the picture above is how Apollo chose to wait. This was a living room display and I sat in a comfy chair close to the escalators to wait for Leao and Nicholas. Apollo found it necessary to tinker with the computer. Despite the fact that I told him it was a fake computer.  He made me laugh so hard while he was typing away and then periodically looking up as if I was wrong and words would appear on the screen.

funphotofriday22After we left IKEA we stopped in at the local Target and the boys couldn’t resist standing in this open space. Oh and yes, Apollo is sporting his Starbucks Chai tea in his hand (like mother, like son!).

Have a blessed weekend my friends!

Fun Photos Friday #19: Family Math Night

funphotofriday19

I am the first to admit that I am not very good at math. Some might say awful when referring to my lame math skills, but I believe there is still hope for me.  I know when I am buying things and they are on sale, I may take more time than others but I am generally in the ballpark with my estimates.

So last night when I attended my first Family Math Night at my son’s school, I was a bit nervous. Hoping my lack of brilliance in the numbers department would not be exposed. I went so far as to split the boys up so that my youngest who is 6 would walk with me and we would play age-appropriate math games while my husband took our oldest who is 10.

I have to say it was a lot of fun and we even picked up a nice packet of games to play at home (Maybe there is still hope for me!).

Well have a blessed weekend!
