Home Decor: 30 Days of Gratitude

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I have been away pretty much the whole week.  My youngest caught the stomach bug so I have been doing a whole lot of laundry and cleaning up things.  It hasn’t left much time for crafting and now I am truly behind on my Confessions work.  But then this time of year always lends itself to sick days, extra errands and more doctors appointments right?

So I am not going to complain instead I am going to share my latest crafty home decor that I bought off of Jessica Sprague’s website. It is called, ’30 Days of Gratitude’. I printed up and cut out the files then assembled these cute little envelopes. The instructions came with different ideas for displaying these envelopes and I knew on the wall behind my desk would be the perfect place.

It fits so nicely on this wall I love looking at it.  Apollo has taken a liking to it too and each day he pulls out a card to read the encouraging words.

Before bed, I ask each of my boys and my husband to list 3 things they are grateful for and they have to be different from days prior. Then I write them on a piece of paper.  I think I might have to make a little mini scrapbook of our days of gratitude.  Perhaps I can make it an on-going album so I can get the boys to truly establish a more grateful life.

Each card has a unique quote on them.

I hope you too can find more moments to pause and reflect on the many blessings big and small in your lives.

Have a blessed day!

Congratulations Boston Red Sox on the amazing win to become the World Series Champs

Hello Everyone!!

Confession, I am not a big fan of baseball. I find it a bit slow for my taste. My sport is football.  But I do support our state teams and I know when to pause and witness a great moment in history. So I did watch the second half of the game. I loved seeing all the players run together to celebrate as soon as Koji Uehara delivered the pitch to strike out Matt Carpenter!  I can only imagine what joy this team felt after working so hard together all year.  It must have been amazing.

To see grown men jumping up and down, hugging each other and I am sure some tears is a great thing to witness.  I ran out this morning to get the newspaper so that I can include it in my scrapbook.

That said, I was up until 12:30am and am very tired with no new “Confessions” update.  But I will plug away today and tomorrow I will have something to share.

Oh and Happy Halloween!

Cute embellies!

I thought I would share these cute embellishments I recently bought at Michael’s in the dollar bin.  They were $1.50 each but I think they were well worth it. They are made of wood and each initial is styled differently. I mean really look at the packaging – all of my favorite colors.  I can even use that colored cards on a project.  I am thinking I could use them in layouts, Project Life or even mini albums about my family. I bought the first letter for each of my family members.

I will be share to post a picture when I use them. In the meantime, I am just really pleased with this purchase.

Have a blessed day!

Happy Birthday Mummy!

Today is my mum’s birthday. It’s been six years since she has passed and my heart still aches and I think of her daily.   She still remains to be the most amazing woman in my life.  I am grateful for the close relationship she and I had all those years.

Songs, sounds, images still bring up a strong reaction in me when they trigger a memory.   These memories are my little nuggets of goodness I carry with me. For she is a part of me always. These are things we have to cherish with our friends and family now.

Today I feel like technology and the media make us lose sight of what is important all too often.  So my advice to all is to slow down and cherish THIS very moment. Always remember your blessings that are right before you today. Think less about the future so that you can lock in the miracle of today.

I miss you mum and know you are always in my heart.
