Fun Photos Friday #17 : Growing up fast

projectlifecards7

I just realized a few weeks ago that my oldest son’s pants were creeping up and I needed to go buy him some more.  Today, I was folding the new pants after taking them out of the dryer and reality set in that he is growing so fast.  Part of me wishes he could stay small forever and stay with me. But I know part of being a parent, we are to help them grow and guide them so that they can go out into the world and share their greatness. But standing there looking at his new jeans and  I couldn’t believe how the time flies so fast. These jeans looked so long.

Think I am going to hug him a little tighter today!!

Have a great weekend!

Winter storm

anotherstorm1

This is the aftermath of yesterday’s snow storm.  A foot of snow!  Yes that is our cars almost buried. I took this in the morning from my bedroom and it came down all day and a few more inches were added to this.  So another fun snow day for the boys. I do love snow days. It’s just the shoveling that I am not so thrilled with.  It was fun watching the pretty flakes fall but then reality set in that I would have to put on my boots and get out there yanked me from my ‘happy place’.  I took the back walk and cleared the cars. Leao the front walk, stairs and front drive.  Our plow guy had to come two times to clear way the big stuff for us.

So it was pretty much a hang out in your pajamas and play day for the boys and back to school today.  So I am finally back at my craft table.

Have a blessed day!

Having fun with scraps…

scraps1

Hello! I was going through my baskets that contain my 6×6 paper pads and came across these pretty scraps remaining from some projects I made in the past and I decided to put them to good use. I grabbed my two Fiskars’ punches and some foam dots and made some cute dimensional accents I can use on Project Life, scrapbooks and cards.  I just love looking at all them.

So funny how scraps can be magically transformed with a little imagination and avoid the fate of the garbage pail!

I hope I inspired you to find more ways to use those scraps you might have laying around your craft rooms.

Preparing for Valentine’s Day

valentinescards

I am gearing up for Valentine’s Day around here. I am thinking of a “14 Days of Love” in our home. I want to make little love notes for Leao and the boys and give them one a day from February 1st to Valentine’s Day. So I have been scouring Silhouette’s store to find some quick cuties. I am also working on a banner to hang in my craft room. I like to include decorations in my craft room to get me in the mood.

Last year, I bought red metal mailboxes for each of us to decorate and place in a location so that each day we can exchange notes.  I found a cute mailbox on the Silhouette store and depending on how durable I can make it, I might make one for each of us.  My boys tend to be a little rough so paper mailboxes although perfect for me, might spell disaster. So I will see how it comes out.

Are you planning any Valentine’s activities in your home? I am always looking for more ideas.

Have a great weekend!
