80th Birthday Card

80thbirthdaycard

Hello! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend.  The boys had their vacation week this past week and so we ended our week attending two birthday parties yesterday.  My best friend from college’s mother was celebrating her 80th birthday.   I made this card for her since she did not want any gifts. We all had fun and then after a few hours we went to celebrate my brother-in-laws birthday where my mother-in-law had prepared a delicious meal and made a home-made cake.

I used two different Flourishes’ stamps to create this card. I look forward to using the numbers (Numbers in Blossom) again for more birthday cards.

Have a blessed day!

LSS Haul

AEHaul3

One thing I love about my LSS (Local Scrapbooking Store) is that they have  a crop night every Wednesday. I have been going there for years and have met the most amazing women who have become dear friends.  Another great thing is that we can shop while we craft.  So I always managing to find goodies to buy. Above are two new stamp sets I bought.  The Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday stamps I got for 40% off. I plan on using it for my Project Life. The Kaiser Craft stamps on the right will be great sentiments for my cards I make.

AEHaul1I just had to have this letter sticker sheet with all these great phrases in pretty spring colors.  I will be using these in Project Life as well as scrapbook layouts.

Of course I had to buy the 6×6 pad that goes with the sticker sheet. The colors are great for spring and Easter cards.  The Authentic paper pad on the right will be great for summer cards. I can’t tell you how much I love these shades of blue and yellow.

I have been hearing a lot about these Wink of Stella markers and I finally got one. I am going to try it out on some cards. I am thinking they can add a little sparkle.

The easter phrase stickers were so cute. I just had to have them. They are small enough to stick on PL photos. Especially the easter egg hunt we always have for the boys.

Have a blessed day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

valentinescards3

Hello!! Happy Valentine’s Day. Yes…that was my Silhouette you heard humming at 8:30 last night. Somehow I managed to forget to make Valentine’s cards for the boys’ teachers. I always make them and then buy the store versions for the kids to swap with their friends.  Well we had a snow day yesterday and the boys were home and I managed to forget what I had to do for the day.  So yes, I snatched up the easiest file I could find and cut out these cards.  I have also made an extra one for the crossing guard.  I am always so amazed how she manages to get out there way before all the kids are released from school and stand in that bitter cold. I stay in my car until the last minute and I still freeze my butt off. I wonder what kind of thermals she wears?  Anyway I made an extra one for her.

I also made a few for my son’s ‘special valentines’. I printed up some digis and colored them up real quick.

The boys completed their cards too. Apollo is sitting at his new desk in his bedroom writing his cards.  I am so happy they have desks now. They both like to write and especially at bedtime so they will be well used.

Our seven days of love has gone well. I even received a chocolate in my mailbox last night from my husband. (Love that man.).  Well I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s day and a great weekend.

Valentine’s Mailboxes

valentinesboxes1

Well our 7-days of love has begun at our house. I completed these mailboxes last week and each has been placed near our beds waiting for love notes.  Each day I write 3 love letters and slip one in each mailbox.  Then at bedtime we all open up our mailbox and read them.  The first box, from left to right is Apollo’s then followed by Nicholas’, mine and Leao’s.

valentinesboxes2Of course I had to add flowers to my mailbox because I needed an excuse to use my glue gun and truly can’t resist using flowers.  I also got to use some old brads to attach the arrow so that it could spin.

valentinesboxes3I put it on my nightstand so it is ready to receive some love notes. The book on my night stand is a new one I bought to help me with my genealogy research. More to come on that project sometime in the future.  I you would like to get this cut file for the Silhouette you can find it here.

Have a blessed day!
