Ok, I am a big fan of Flourishes stamps and I admit it, I am finally taking the plunge and entering one of the Timeless Tuesday Challenges(TTC).  The designers are so amazing and the entries for TTC are always beautiful.

So I close my eyes and push submit!

Emboss it with Mo Challenge #169

Here is my latest entry for Mo’s Digital’s Weekly Challenge.

‘On Your Special day’

I have been wanting to use this digital image from Mo for a long time. I love her pretty little dress. So this contest presented me with a great excuse to play with it in my craft room.  I used one of my shapeabilities dies that I haven’t used nearly enough and then embossed it.  I added some rhinestones to it for some bling.  I colored up Cupcake Princess Sienna with my Copics and cut her out before putting her on the card.

Here is the inside of the card.

Lately these colors seem to be jumping up in all of my projects. My other markers are feeling neglect! I suppose this too shall pass.

Card Ingredients:

  • Paper: Prima Madeline Collection,  fushia cardstock
  • Stamps: Mo’s Cupcake Princess Sienna (digital), Penny Blacks Gratitude set
  • Shapeabilities: Blossoms and accents
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder: D’Vine Swirl
  • Inks: Momento Rich Coacoa, Tuxedo Black
  • Stickles: Cotton Candy
  • Copics: RV11, RV17, E00, E11, E13, E25, E79, BG13, BG18, Y17

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #189

Hello Everyone!!

I am feeling much better this week. I finally went to the doctor and it appears yours truly has bronchitis.  Finally able to reduce the medicine so I think I will be as good as new in a few days.

My bulb finally bloomed in my reading nook.

I think the bulb in my craft room has helped in my healing process too. I have been watching it for days and finally they opened.  It is cold here but I can see the tropics when I look at the blooms.

My pretty flowers!

Ok, so what am I working on you ask?  I am working on my 2013 Project Life album.  I started in on the cover and printing the first two weeks of photos.  I decided this year to make my own cards instead of buying the kit.  So let’s see how long before I breakdown and buy a kit.  <hee hee>

Wide shot of my desk.

I actually cleaned up my desk so I actually am enjoying working at it today. So I was able to spread out and actually create.

Close-up of my project.

On the stool next to me I have a bag filled with the paper I intend on using for the album. I picked a vibrant color scheme because I am excited about all the possibilities for 2013.  My jelly bean jar was way too far on the left for my liking. I usually have it very close but as you can see it needs to be refilled (I wonder how that happened?).

My Project Life album.

Using some of my stash feels good. I typically buy new each project but I have decided to shop my stash for this year’s album. I used some Dear Lizzy letter stickers that I have been hoarding for way too long and snatched up a bunch of bright color papers and started creating the cover.

Well I have run on way too long.  Shhh don’t tell Julia how long I babbled!

I am off to go check out your desks for more amazing inspiration.

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King, Jr.!!

“Faith is taking the first step when you don’t see the staircase.”

– Martin Luther King Jr.

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King!  This morning during breakfast, I played for the boys Stevie Wonder’s song ‘Happy Birthday‘ that he wrote and produced in 1981 when he was campaigning to get Martin Luther King’s birthday declared a national holiday.

Growing up,  I  remember my mother used to play this song on his birthday every year and we would dance around to it. It became a tradition in our home.  So I thought this year I would introduces the boys to the fun.  Nicholas took to it fast and danced with me in the kitchen.

Today is a very special day for us all and I am truly grateful for the changes that came about as a result of all his and many other’s efforts.

When the boys get home from school today we will complete some coloring pages of Martin to hang around the house. I included a link to the pages below.

I have included a few links for more information on this amazing man:

Have a blessed day!
