Keep Calm and Go to a Place called Turkey

Apollo’s candle he made in school.

Apollo who is in Kindergarten right now brought home the cutest candle he made in class to decorate the Thanksgiving table.   The best part was seeing his face light up when my mother-in-law put it in the middle of the table.

Keep Calm and Go to a Place called Turkey!

Nicholas being the quick crafter didn’t want to be left out of contributing so he made this cute sign to put on the table too.  He based it on the Keep Calm items we see flooding the internet lately. He is so up to date it’s amazing.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #182

Hello Everyone!

Wow, what a week. We had a great holiday with family. Great food fun and lots of games played.

Project Life in overdrive

Speed Project Life – Yup, that’s what is happening on my desk. I have managed to get behind farther than I care to admit but ego has me pushing through to complete it by December 18th. That’s my date. I am going away for holiday so I need to have it completed by then.  I will at the vacation week when I get home.  So I am going through the photos and printing them and then going back later to journal and pretty them up.

Working on new card.

I am working on yet another Christmas card. I had this image colored up for weeks so now I am finally giving it at home.  I found a sketch I liked in a magazine so I am going to use it as a guide.    Yes that is  a chocolate bar you see. Can’t a girl have

Well I think the general theme for me until after the New Year, is short and sweet posts.

Thankful…

What a blessing to spend the holiday with family and enjoying all this great food.

Well I was hoping to write this post earlier but I realized that I am always thankful so there is no time like the present.

So often I get caught up rushing and planning and doing and thinking and I let one little thing ruin my day and go to bed with regrets.  When I need to slow down, catch my breath and reflect on the enormity of my blessings.  I have so many but I will share a few that are on top right now.

I am thankful for…

  • My mother who shaped me into the woman I am today. I love her and miss her very much.
  • My husband who really is my best friend and supports me in all that I aspire to achieve.
  • My boys who I am my number one source of pride. Their hugs and kisses and silly laughs are forever implanted in my brain.
  • My sister who I confide in regularly and who I quite often causes me to nearly pee my pants when she makes me laugh.
  • My extended family who inspire me on a regular basis with their achievements and aspirations.
  • My current fitness routine which is keeping me healthy and a lot happier.
  • My company, Belinda’s Crafts. Although it is at it’s at infant stages, it brings me great joy to be blessed with the opportunity to pursue a passion of mine.
  • My girlfriends for making me so very happy and put up with me dropping out of communication for periods of time when life gets too crazy.
  • My spiritual practice that is bringing more love and compassion into my life.
  • My craft room (yes a room) that is my daily source of inspiration. Especially when it is filled with the sunlight. I love working in it each day and being among all my crafty things.

So make sure you don’t just be thankful for Thanksgiving. Let’s all aspire to being thankful each day.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #181

Hello Everyone!

Today’s post will be short and sweet (ok, I can at least guarantee the short part!)  Tomorrow we are off to my in-laws for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  I am not one for enjoying the packing and unpacking process so I am a little grumpy right now.

Well the mess is back!

So let me tell you what you are looking at since last week’s clean desk is a distant  memory.  I decided that I did not have enough time to make my usual enormous batch of handmade Christmas cards.  So our family sat for a holiday photo session and what you are seeing the cards on the right.  On the left there is smaller wallets that came with the package so I thought I can make some quick cards if I run out of the cards I ordered.  I am also going to use my new snowflake Die-namics to cut out snowflakes to seal the envelopes.

In the middle of my desk you can see my latest sale getting ready for shipping. Underneath that is list of images of one of my Cricut cartridges. I was looking at it for things I could use for Valentine’s Day cards.  In the back right corner are some tags I cut out with my cuttlebug. They are going to be Kwanzaa tags.  Lots of other things poking out in the baskets – stamps and dies.

Well I need to go but I do promise to do better visiting desks this week.
