What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #590

on my desk…

Hello, my crafty friends! It’s Wednesday and you know what time it is. Time to snoop. For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

I’m running late today. I decided to wash and blow dry my hair this morning and so my whole schedule has been pushed back. But here I am. On my desk today you see lots of fun stuff. I had been on the fence about buying these new pen storage cases (black, white and pink). I loved how the horizontal one has three compartments inside so I can sort my pens, brush tips and pencils. The vertical one is so cool. The black and white patterned section on the top slides up with a zipper on top for portability and then down to make it more like a cup to see all the contents. It’s quite genius. So I caved and ordered it. I just got them last night so I will have to fill them.

This morning I am working in my planner. I usually prepare it on Monday and I fill in tasks in the colored stickers. It really helps me keep track of my plans for each day.

The new gaming chair and desk have arrived and are set up in my son’s room. He hasn’t finalized what he wants for a new computer so that should be coming soon. Update on my closet clear out – I am half way through it and it feels so good to purge even if it’s chaos in between.

Some snacks and meals from the last few days. I am almost done with this detox. It is suppose to end on Thursday but I am thinking I will keep going through the end of the month. I am so surprised I am not missing meat like I thought I would. I am also afraid to start back on sweets since they are my biggest hurdle. So I will plan out my meals and find some new recipes to mix in to keep it fresh. I feel so much better and it has only been 9 days. I can only imagine how great I will feel if I stick to eating like this. Especially since the fall and winter are cozy foods and excess snacking.

A recent haul. I found these beauties on sale and the stamp set on top was a bundle with the matching dies. So I can make some fall cards with it and the die in the back is a winter scene so I can’t wait to try it.

One of my yummy breakfast from this detox and I broke out my fall mug for the first day of fall yesterday. I love fall. It’s so pretty and the air smells great.

My crazy Dahlia’s bloomed so late. I feel bad because I will have to dig them up soon.

Another craft haul. I saw these beauties and could not pass them up. Look in the ephemera pack and you can see little slippers sticking out. These make me so happy. I can’t wait ot use them.

One last garden picture! Look at the solar fountain in my yard go while all of my Autumn Joy Sedum are blooming like crazy making my bees so happy.

Happy fall and keep crafting!

Belinda

  8. I love your colour swatches, Belinda, and your beautiful garden as always. What a beautiful blue fountain! My hubby put in dahlias this year and they are looking lovely – I’ve posted some photos this week. I’m glad the detox has made you feel so much better. People often say they would find it impossible to give up meat and other animal products, but once you start, it’s really not too difficult, and if you can continue, you will find that your taste buds recover to the state they should be in, and you find that plant-based foods taste ever more delicious as time goes on. I thought I could never do without eggs, milk and cheese, but I don’t miss them at all now! A whole-food plant-based diet is the optimum way of eating for the best health and I’m delighted to witness my hubby improving so much since we’ve been on it. Your meals look delicious, especially the blueberry oatmeal! If you have managed to keep off the sweet treats for the duration of the detox, it proves you are capable of keeping off them for longer – a day at a time!! I saw a video the other day where a doctor described one of his patients (who described himself as a Nebraska meat eater lol – he was enormous!! – he set himself to go whole-food plant-based for 30 days because he thought that would be about manageable, and at the end of that 30 days, he decided to go another 30 days. After the 60 days, he decided to go for the year, and he has continued ever since, and seen a dramatic improvement in his weight and health. You do adjust, and the cravings go away. I know – I can’t imagine now, going back to stuffing my face with crisps and chocolates as i used to! There are so many really tasty and interesting recipes out there.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  9. My Autumn Joy sedum is doing the same thing over here, a sort of last hurrah for the flowering plants! lovely shot of dappled sunshine in your garden. my Mother in Law has about forty feet of dahlia beds and leaves them till the first frost has occurred. I’m afraid that will be fairly soon now, our Indian Summer has bolted and temperatures are at least ten degrees cooler by day all of a sudden. Definitely chilly! Great purchases Belinda, I could use that Pink fresh stuff without hesitation, a great find! I’ve had one of those cup type pencil cases for years…it’s plain black and very boring; so nice to see that someone’s hit on the idea of gussying them up so that they look pretty as well as being functional.
