What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #568

on my desk…

Hello, my crafty friends! Yup, we are still on “house arrest” as I call it. Looks like it will be a while so I am continually making adjustments to make things as comfortable as possible for myself and my family. I can’t wait for the warm weather so we can spend more time outside. I thought I would share what I have been up to for the week as a good distraction since we last met.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

On my desk, you see my journal. I started a new journal at the beginning of the month and am following along with daily journaling prompts to kick start my thoughts. We have one word each day and I have to say this is the best thing I have found to keep me journaling daily. I actually look forward to the new word each day.

Zoom craft hour!

I connected with some of my crafty friends online on Saturday to do another craft session. I ended up there for 3 hours. I worked on my traveler’s journal scrapbook.

I am loving that I can use up some of the millions of Project Life cards that I own from years ago. I took this one and cut it down and stamped my journaling on it.

I created the title, “This makes me smile” by cutting up a 3×4 project life card. I have to add the date and maybe some little embellies and then I am down with this spread.

puzzle time

Over the weekend, my husband and I started a puzzle. We worked on separate sections and then my lovely large cookie spatula came in handy moving the pieces into the main puzzle. I would love to say we finished it but no we stopped shortly after this picture. I like the idea of working on it over a course of time. We typically do the whole thing in one day but what’s the rush? We aren’t going anywhere!! <hee hee>

Yesterday I found these cute canvas bags that I bought over a year ago at Target on clearance. I intended on stamping them but they got pushed to the side. I’ve been inspired by all of you ladies that are working on your UFOs. So yesterday I grabbed some stamps and got to it.

The final result.

Before I go I thought I would share the finished coloring page from last week. I still need to blend the background more but for now, I am calling it complete.

I hope you all are well and keeping your mind busy on fun things. I keep thinking of all the blessings in my life when I get down about this situation. Just the fact that we can communicate weekly at our snoop sessions, makes me smile. Stay well, my friends.

  1. A fabulous variety of projects there Belinda. I am trying to do a little crafting every day and of course I am keeping up with my daily blogging. This means that I have to complete at least six projects a week. Hope the weather is warm enough for you to spend more time outside soon. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #6

  2. I like the idea of journaling about a word. It’s all I can do to decorate my planner!
Looks like you have oodles going on. But I am back to work deep cleaning our church 2 mornings a week (usually alone) which gives me to opportunity to purchase groceries (we live 10 miles from town). Hope your weather gets nice. We’re in for 90*F high this weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of the week.

What a lovely mixture of projects. I love the crafting and the idea of the scrapbooking in a travellers journal. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe and take care. With love and God Bless, Caro x (#25)

Hi Belinda, I haven’t tried crafting by Zoom – I generally only ever craft alone, none of my friends or relatives craft. I have been to a workshop a few years ago,but I’m usually at work when they are held. One day I will get involved somewhere, I’m sure. You’ve certainly packed a lot into this week – I seem to be working longer hours now I’m working from home, so even less time to craft. Thanks for stopping by my blog – I’m glad its not just me that likes organizing lol. I don’t have the largest collection of stamps by any means – I’ve only been crafting less than 5 years, but I do have one of the worst memories! Have a lovely week and stay safe, Heather xx #28

Wonderful projects and lovely that you can work on something together with DH and your crafting friends. UFO’s are popping up on everyone’s desk and sometimes we need some time to think about how to finish off a project. Have fun creating and stay safe.

Looks like you’ve really cracked the keep in touch technology! Results still a bit mixed here – if ever there was an excuse to upgrade some of our equipment this is it!! Lovely to see what you’ve been doing and hope the weather lets you get outside very soon. Stay well, stay safe, Happy WOYWW Cindy #18

  8. Hi Belinda. Great post – lots of things going on in your family at this time. I can imagine it is fun to do a Zoom meet up on your computer – mine doesn’t have a camera or microphone, so I would be limited to using my phone for that – no way – far too small a screen!! I’d be driven crazy with the tiny images. Oh well, I accept I am a dinosaur! I like those cute little goodie bags you have stamped. Well done on the jigsaw – I am currently creating a huge pile to take to the charity shops when they re-open!! I am definitely addicted….
I confess to not thinking of this as house arrest – just enjoying the solitude and quiet – apart from not going to see my family!!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  9. This is indeed the time to finish some UFO’s, love the stamped bags, but I am mostly in love with your journaling spread, awesome! Thanks for visiting my blog the other day. I hope you have a nice Spring day today (in Holland, we have!) and enjoy the sunshine whenever you can! Big hug-from-a-distance, Marit #27

  10. Hi Belinda, lots of lovely stuff to look at on your desk! Love the colouring page, awesome job.Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #11 X

Thanks for your visit earlier, rather a large amount of sitting today!!
Love the way you’ve stamped the bags, will you be colouring them? The butterfly is gorgeous.

  12. Loads going on here today. Love the jigsaw, not done one for years and the Altenew stamps are gorgeous. Take care and have a lovely belated woyww, Angela x17x

  13. I think quite a lot of us will look back on this lockdown period as being a good thing! I like the little linen bags, and that you just suddenly decided to get on and do them, very much in the spirit of a lot of UFO work around these parts! They look pretty, haven’t they stamped well. I’m with you on the PL cards too, have finally started using them, but like you, not in a PL format, and now they’re working for me! The butterfly is absolutely stunning, I would be calling it finished too! What a lovely book full you’re going to end up with! stay well. Xx

  14. Wow, Belinda, you are staying busy. I came across a video for TN scrapbooking the other day but refused to slide down that rabbit hole lol. too much going on at the moment. Those bags are cute. Are you going to try coloring in the images or leave them natural?I’ve been seeing a lot of people doing puzzles again. I’d love to work on one but my sewing corner needs revamped first so I have room for a board. Cya Wednesday! Creative Blessings! Kelly #31

  15. You’ve been keeping yourself so busy Belinda, so many creative things for you and the family, bet you’ve enjoyed every minute really. Those fabric bags would look even nicer painted or embroidered, something I love to do. Hope the sun comes out & warms up your part of the world so you can have some outdoor time, we have been blessed in the UK with unexpected good weather so i’ve been balancing my time inside and out.
Take care & stay safe Tracey #3 xx

  16. You are certainly keeping busy, Belinda! Love the butterfly colouring page, and what a good idea to use a spatula to move your jigsaw pieces around! I always admire people with the patience to do big puzzles like that – I can’t do them to ave my life! Glad to see you are also getting on top of your UFOs. I need to make major inroads into mine before they take over the house…

Sorry to be so late visiting. I have struggled to keep up with it this week as I’ve been quite busy with other things!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
    Shoshi #15
