Project Life: Week eight

projectlifelogo1

I am a bit off schedule on pretty much everything. My oldest son was sick for the past three days and the back burner everything went. So I am posting this rather later than usual.

week8aWeek eight was a fun week but also very stressful with the sheer volume of snow we had. Never before had I thought about our roof and trees during the winter months before this winter. Every time I watched the news I would see another roof collapsing and trees come down. I think our roof is pitched enough that we didn’t have to worry so much but our deck is covered and the pitch isn’t as steep. Leao bought a long tool to pull some of the snow off of the roof and then he took out our ladder and climbed up (yes, in hindsight, it was dangerous and we probably should not of done it). I watched him shovel off our deck from the boys’ bedroom window. It was insane. Looking at the photos it doesn’t look like he is shoveling a roof!

week8bTo escape the house we took the boys to The Yardhouse to eat on one day. What can I say about that but pure yumminess!!

week8cThe crazy thing is that I had Leao take the picture of me on our walkway to show how high the snow was, well it got much higher. At it’s peak, it made me feel like we where walking through a snow tunnel to get to the cars and I am pretty sure the neighbors could barely see us come and go.

week8dI love capturing our reading sessions on my camera. It’s so important to me and I hope they look back and remember the times with fondness. Last year, in addition reading my books I started listening to audiobooks. I just love it. So I decided to take a picture of me walking around with my iPhone listening to my audio books. It’s something I do when I work and sometimes when I cook.

On our way to visit my in-laws we saw all sorts of warning signs up on the highway so I snapped a picture of that.

My niece’s that lives in Florida celebrated her birthday this week and my sister-in-law sent me this beautiful photo of her. Wow, I remember her in diapers and now 13!! What a beautiful and intelligent young girl she has become.

Still Fan Girling Sujata Massey. So when I received an email from her, I still did my little happy dance. Perhaps this year, I will get to meet he in person. Love her books.

Well that is all for this week. I will be back next week with week nine!

Happy scrapping my friends!!

Project Life: Week seven

week7aHello Everyone!  Happy Monday!  Today I would like to share with you my Week 7 of Project Life. This week I just love how the colors and pages came out. Some weeks, I am just ok with the layouts and then there are others that I really love. This week for some reason I just felt things flowed nicely and the colors look good.

week7bI wake up before sunrise to meditate and exercise at my home. So after I meditate I always grab my phone and look out the window for the sun. I love capturing sunrise. It’s a special moment in the day. This one was exceptionally beautiful sunrise with the silhouette of the trees around my neighbor’s yard so I thought I would include it in the album.

week7c

The picture of our front yard and garage buried under the snow is unbelievable and now that we broke the record for most snowiest winter, it is a great documentation for the boys to look back and see. I also included Nicholas working with his science partner at the library on their report. And Apollo working on his Valentine he made me on his Silhouette Portrait.

week7f

I recently downloaded the Project Life app and played round with a journaling card and added a photo for my Valentine lunch with Leao. I liked how it came out and it was simple to do. So I will definitely incorporate some more in weeks to come. Besides, I am not the biggest fan of my handwriting so any opportunity to reduce the occurrence is good by me.

week7eMy friend Joan knows I love Tiana from Disney’s Princess and the Frog movie.  When we took the boys this fall to Disney, I couldn’t find her. So when Joan went a few weeks back, she found the most beautiful ornament of Tiana and bought her for me. Well, I knew exactly where she would go – in my craft room! She hangs above my head on my cabinets. So when I need a little Disney magic to pick up my day, I glance up at her.

week7dI always read before bed and so one day, I decided to take a picture of my Nook on my bed before I started reading. It’s one of those daily habits that I overlook when documenting my life. I’ve captured reading at pick up but not bedtime.  I love catching the boys writing their Valentines’ cards. This will be Nicholas’ last year since I am pretty sure in middle school they stop exchanging them.  I want more pictures of Leao in my album too so I took the opportunity when we went out for our Valentine lunch to take one of him.  He still can rock the chopsticks like a pro. Me..not so much but believe me, I manage. I also love the photo of the boys walking out from school. The mounds are so high but the point also to note is after I stand out there freezing my butt off, they often rush ahead of me to the car!

Another great week. I will be back with 8 next week.

Happy crafting!

Project Life: Week six

projectlifelogo1

week6aHello Everyone! Happy Monday! I am really proud to say I am officially caught up on all of my Project Life. I had a major craft session this weekend so now I can enjoy the process more. I don’t enjoy it when I get too far behind. But I am going to try to modify my schedule a bit to keep up with it.
week6b

Week six was great. The Patriot’s finally were able to have their Superbowl Victory parade in Boston. It was delayed due to the volume of snow we were experiencing here.   I had to work so since I work from home, I was able to watch it live on the television. I took pictures and cheered standing in my living room just as if I were actually there. I also saved the souvenier newspapers with the win and will include in a 12×12 page protector at the end of the album. What a great season.

week6cI captured Nicholas working on his Science project in my craft room. I’m so proud of all his efforts. It was his first big science project that required a research paper and oral presentation. He worked very hard on it.

I included a screen shot of Google celebrating the first day of Black History Month as well as the first book I was reading for the month.  Despite the snow, I still was able to go to my friend Joan’s monthly crop at her church. We had so much fun eating, chatting and crafting.

Overall, a great week.

I’ll be back next week with week 7 for sure since I’m all caught up!

Have a blessed day my friends!

Project Life: Week five

projectlifelogo1

I started posting these pages late so that I would always be ahead in their creation. But I have slowed down a bit so a quick catch up is happening so I can continue to post these weekly with ease.

week5aI was on an aqua and pink phase again with this two-page spread for week five. I really love how it came out. Some weeks, I am alright with the final result but this week was great. I  think it captured a lot of what was going on for us that week.

week5bI captured some fun in the snow. Leao sledding with the boys in the yard is so much fun to look at.  I captured the volume of snow we had in our yard. Even the town shrubs that spell out the name, looked pretty all covered in snow.  I documented the ups and downs. For example, I took the photo of Apollo when he had the stomach virus that was going around his school.  I even documented my One Little Word album.

week5cI think I showed these two photos of Nicholas and Apollo playing in the snow already but now you can see them in my layout for Project Life. I used some stickers to add some fun phrases. I used Heidi Swaps’ page protector that had the Live it Up! in gold on it. I thought it was fitting for the fun happenings.

week5dI love when I can catch Nicholas on film when he is having fun and smiling. He doesn’t like me to take his photo so this one means a lot to me.

week5fApollo is still easy going when it comes to me taking his photo. Thank goodness his snow suit still fit from last year because he loves to lay down in the snow.

week5eThe snow was high enough for them to have some fun sliding in our yard.

Overall a great week, aside from Apollo being sick. After I completed this layout I realized I forgot to include something very important – The Patriots’ winning the Superbowl!  I love football so I always try to incorporate it somewhere in my album. The problem is that I don’t want to add an insert to this week with the Patriot’s win. Eventhough it technically occured on this week, I am thinking about including it in the next week. I have newspaper clippings I think I might reference and put them at the end of the album. Still on the fence with this.

Anyway, I hope you finding time to fit some crafting into your day, because we can all use a little creative play!

I’ll be back next week with week 6!
