The weather was so warm two weeks ago, so I had to get out there and begin my spring planting. Apollo was my helper when it came to planting my Dahlia bulbs. He likes digging and he really loved playing with all of the worms we encountered.

When he finished with me, he took some time to play with his dad! He has had these since he was really little but he is really too big for them but it was fun watching them ride around the driveway!

Every year, for some time now, I take my father-in-law plant shopping for his father’s day gift. We learned a few years ago that it’s better to go right after Mother’s day to get the best plants. So off we went, I didn’t go with a plan. I just browsed but I bought much more perennials which really makes me happy since they will return each year.
I also began buying some vegetable plants for my veggie beds. The day we went shopping it was in the 90s so we went shopping early and I waited until Saturday do my planting.
I managed to get a good start but much more to do. My wireless headphones broke so I need to find another inexpensive option to use when I am out in the garden. I like to listen to my audiobooks and podcasts while I mess around in the garden. Last year, I learned the hard way using headphones with wires and I accidentally cut the cord. Yup, it happened. So Bluetooth all the way. I am hoping to get out in the garden later today to continue work in the garden. Have a fantastic weekend!

On Wednesday, I spent more than half the day with some of my crafty girlfriends. I have been making an effort to insert fun with friends into my crazy schedule. I realized a while back that I missed the quality time with friends and that if I wanted it to happen, I needed to literally put it in my schedule like an appointment and treat it with as much importance. Five of us spent the time working (or almost in some cases) on some of our craft projects and catching up. I always walk away feeling light. By that, I mean less burdened.
Before we left, we decided we would take a photoshoot with the cute picture frames they had in the room. Having them in the room with us was like leaving a child alone in the room with candy – irresistible! We even solicited a person from the store to come take our group shot. In another post I will share with you what I worked on so I won’t burden you with too many photos in this post.
In our busy lives, we have to really make time for ourselves. Focusing on fun is healthy for everyone and I am going to be sure to integrate more for myself moving forward.

We woke on Sunday and went for a nice walk on the track and then headed to one of our favorite breakfast spots to eat all the calories we just burned and then some. It was quite yummy. It’s just so much fun to have time for just the two of us. We always appreciate it because we don’t do it as often as in the past. So we are always grateful for the time.
