What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #166

Some holiday cards I am working on right now.

Hello everyone! I missed everyone last week. I had nothing going on so didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. This week I am working on some new cards for the holiday season. My desk has turned to it’s usual state – “creatively cluttered”. The piles have returned on top, beside and below my desk.  Hence the tight shot of my desk this week.  Perhaps this year I will conquer this mess I tend to make and leave until company arrives. My problem is I often don’t know where to put things. I always think, if I have them on my desk (the projects) I will finish them.  Boy am I often wrong. I tend to have multiple things going on at once so it can get pretty crowded on my desk at times.

More of my desk.

Summer seems to be whizzing by and I am trying to soak it up with the boys before school starts again. To the beach is our big destination mostly for the month of August. The water is finally warm enough for my liking. This weekend looks like rain so perhaps a museum will be on our to do list for the boys this weekend.

I hope you all are having fun and I can’t wait to start spanning the globe snooping on some desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

WOYWW – #164 – What’s behind the curtain?

My main desk in my craft room.

Hello Everyone!

I am super happy today, my best friend is flying in today from California for her annual visit that I have come to cherish.  We met in college and have stayed in touch over the years and I love her like my sister.

Enough of my chatter. You wonder what’s my title about? Well I have been coaxed by many of you to let my hair down and stop only showing my desk when it’s tidy (a rare thing around here). So today I am letting you begin to peek behind the curtain.

So if you are like me and you click on the photos, they enlarge to show even more detail (in my case “creative clutter”).  I manage to aways store stuff under my desk too. My chair is stragically placed to mask some of the madness under my desk (baby steps, I will share more of my clutter another time).  So when I am creating, I tend to take out a lot and don’t put away much until I finish or I can’t move and then I am forced to put stuff away. Yup, that’s my dirty secret, I tend to make a mess often.  So on my desk you will find some of my Copic markers, some Spellbinder dies that I haven’t put away (the irony is I am making a storage for them and haven’t completed it so I never put them away!).  You will find my momento and Jenni Bowlin ink pads along with my first copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine which most of you know it that are in the U.K. It cost so much here ($11.00 US) so I have never bought it. But with many of the US magazines closing, I took a chance and really enjoy it. So if any of you have old issues you can part with, I welcome donations and willing to exchange my mailing address to do so!! (yup, no pity in asking right?)

New cards I made for my Etsy store.

You will also note on my desk I have a little portfolio/inventory I started working on with all my digi images. It’s the black book on the right.  I started working on this a while back and return to it when I need a break from something else. The three birthday cards I made this week to put up in my Etsy store.  On the left I have two other work in progress cards. One is a gate-fold card that I just had so much fun cutting and scoring them. You will also see a MFT stamp and some greeting stamps and you can see I strung up my washi tape and hung it infront of me. I was inspired by one of your WOYWW’s that did that in their room. I am hoping it will inspire me to use them.  Oh and I have fallen a few days behind on my Italian calender word of the day. Hoping to get back into it.

A close up of the new cards and my digital image inventory.

Ok I will share more of my craft room next time.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #163

Hello Everyone! It’s that time again to peek and snoop around the globe.  Well I first have to fess up that my desk is so messy right now that I am frightened to share it. If I did you all might faint or better yet run from your computer. It’s just one hot mess and I don’t even know where to begin with it.

I find that I like to project a somewhat tidy image while the reality is that my desk is a mess more than clean. So I decided to share a picture of my latest card for my Etsy shop.

A new card for my Etsy shop.

I had these vintage stamps for a few years now and I finally brought them out (ok I found them ) and made a card. The stamp set includes all the letters in the American Sign Language. So I decided a Hello card would be fun to make.

I used some pop dots to raise the letters for more focus.

Close up of card.

Last week, I went on a family vacation with my husband, boys, sister and her husband on Cape Cod. The resort we stayed at was great and it had loads of activities geared towards kids so my boys were really happy. The projected movies outside on a big screen each night, we toured the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory, played in the pools and went to the beach. It was just what we all needed.

Below is a picture the boys when we arrived at the hotel.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #162

Hello Everyone,

Swish!! That’s how it feels when I think of how fast a week goes by.  I have to first say, I felt so much love from all the comments I received last week. I know we all live so far apart but our weekly visits are warm and wonderful.  Thank you for embracing me into your circle of friendship.

I am happy to report that my cold is nearing an end. I only have a cough that comes and goes but all the rest gone. So hate getting colds in the summer. Truly not fun.

journaling cards

My journaling cards for Project Life

Enough whining I thought I would share an on-going project I work on. I should say on-again off-again project. It’s my Project Life. I completed last week’s layout (never happened before). I take the pictures and even write some journaling but never make it happen.  Pathetic!! So I am proud to share this week’s layout.

The first picture of my desk shows me making my own journaling cards. I used the blank gridline cards from Project Life and used Jenni Bowlin ink and some old stamps to make July 4th themed cards.  On the left side of the desk you can see my new Smash album goodies. I still haven’t done much with mine but (shhh) enjoy buying all the goodies that go with it.

Embellished Journaling Cards

I used some Thicker stickers and inked them to match to add the 27 for Week 27. I used my scallop punch to add more interest to the cards.  I found some more stamps along the way to make more journaling cards.  The great thing was I found these old stamps in my stash that I got on clearance at Michael’s a few years ago and never used. So it makes me super happy to use them.

Week 27 Project Life

So here is my final layout with the photos and journaling cards. Yeah!! I actually completed one on time! I had a great 4th of July with my family and despite my best efforts to eat healthy, I did put down some dessert. (A girl must eat!)
