What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #192

Hello Girlfriends!! It seems like forever but it has only been two weeks since I was able to peek at your creative goodness!

I am posting the night before (shhhh.. like I do most weeks) so that I won’t forget in the morning before I head off.

A new card I completed for my shop.

A new card I completed for my shop.

This is a close up shot on my desk. If I showed you it all it might take some time trying to decipher what is on it and you have better things to do then look at that madness that’s a brewin’ on my desk.

You can see my lastest card for my shop. It’s another shadow box card. I made it for Valentines’ day but it could be used anytime of the year. If you check my shop tomorrow, you can see what beauty is inside.

You can also see my stash of bling and pearls. I keep them on a ring for easy perusing and transport.

On the bottom left is a little bit of a Chinese princess stamp I am  playing around coloring up with my Copics.  You can also see some of my pretty little flowers from Prima and my new 2013 calender. I decided to go with a quotes one this year.

Oh and yes, that is my jelly bean bowl to the left and it is so sad because I have managed to eat most of the yummies in it. Although I think you are onto something Julia, it could be a whole in the bowl!

My latest Joann's haul.

Ok, what girl doesn’t love to see clearance stickers in their craft store? Most of the time I arrive too late and sadly stare at the empty clearance racks. Not tonight!! Can you guess how much I paid for all of these stamp sets?

$20!!! Yeah! Love it when that happens. All of them were on clearance. Marked down from $16.99 to $2.97. I simply couldn’t walk away. Ok off I go!

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #190

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is well. I am hopefully at the end of this cough that never completely leaves.  Anyway enough about my health, this weekend my baby (yes, I still refer to both my five and nine-year olds as my babies) was sleeping and fell out of the bed and split under his chin.  He ended up getting five stitches. The most amazing part about it was how brave he was the entire time. He laughed and talked to all the personnel at the emergency room and couldn’t stop talking to the doctor that stitched him up. As a matter of fact, yours truly had to recite the story of the Three Little Pigs with loads of embellishments while the doctor put the stitches in so that he would stop talking!  He’s recovering nicely now and will be free of his stitches on Friday.

On to my desk:

My latest card for my shop.

So what you see on the left is a book I created to keep my book club notes. I will post a separate post with more details about it later.  In the little container on the left is some of the stones I collected at stone stores. I have loved stones since I was a kid and love all the stories that are behind them so I thought I would put a few on my desk for some inspiration.

In the middle of the desk is my lasted card I am working on for my shop. It’s a Valentine’s card. I am debating the last detail – pearls and flowers or just pearls.  You can see all the markers I used to color up my image, a distress ink, spellbinder die, a fishtail die, a cutie valentine’s stamp I got at Michaels and oh let’s not miss my newest Essie nail color ‘Head Mistress’ (what? A girl has to take care of herself while waiting for the creative energies to arrive!).

There are a bunch of mini  hearts I punched on the right side of my desk. And finally that one lonely bean in my jelly bean jar.  I am in major need of a refill.

Ok I babbled enough. I am off to go check out your desks for more amazing inspiration.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #189

Hello Everyone!!

I am feeling much better this week. I finally went to the doctor and it appears yours truly has bronchitis.  Finally able to reduce the medicine so I think I will be as good as new in a few days.

My bulb finally bloomed in my reading nook.

I think the bulb in my craft room has helped in my healing process too. I have been watching it for days and finally they opened.  It is cold here but I can see the tropics when I look at the blooms.

My pretty flowers!

Ok, so what am I working on you ask?  I am working on my 2013 Project Life album.  I started in on the cover and printing the first two weeks of photos.  I decided this year to make my own cards instead of buying the kit.  So let’s see how long before I breakdown and buy a kit.  <hee hee>

Wide shot of my desk.

I actually cleaned up my desk so I actually am enjoying working at it today. So I was able to spread out and actually create.

Close-up of my project.

On the stool next to me I have a bag filled with the paper I intend on using for the album. I picked a vibrant color scheme because I am excited about all the possibilities for 2013.  My jelly bean jar was way too far on the left for my liking. I usually have it very close but as you can see it needs to be refilled (I wonder how that happened?).

My Project Life album.

Using some of my stash feels good. I typically buy new each project but I have decided to shop my stash for this year’s album. I used some Dear Lizzy letter stickers that I have been hoarding for way too long and snatched up a bunch of bright color papers and started creating the cover.

Well I have run on way too long.  Shhh don’t tell Julia how long I babbled!

I am off to go check out your desks for more amazing inspiration.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #188

Hello Friends and Happy New Year!  I missed seeing all of your creative goodness the passed few weeks while on vacation.  But I am back and ready to play. Unfortunately, at the end of my vacation I managed to catch a bad cold and have spent all of last week and the beginning of this one coughing myself to sleep.  Yuk!  So I haven’t been able to jump right in to all the projects I had dreamed up while away for each day, exhaustion takes hold.

The start of some new things on my desk.

On to my desk, well on the left you can see some stamps I am gathering. I am trying to decide whether I want to make my own Project Life cards or buy them like I usually do. I have a box of Journaling cards from last year, that  did not use so I don’t even have to cut the paper. I just need to ink and stamp.  I know it will be economically smart to make my own but will I stick with it? Or should I make a whole bunch while watching TV and then have them ready?  Hmmm.. so much to think about.

In the middle of the screen I have a box containing my recent cutting phase with my Cricut. I cut up a bunch of Valentines images and now you can see me playing around with different inks before I use them on some cards. I am using Distress  inks and Pigment inks and I also have a great new embossing folder that says love to use on them.  I will share photos when I complete some cards.

Well I am off to go see what you all have been up to while I was away!
