What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #226

Hello Everyone!  I’m back! Last week I just needed to take a break to focus on my oldest son’ s 10th birthday party. Which I am happy to say was a success.

A bit of chaos to start the day!

A bit of chaos to start the day!

I decided no tidying my desk today so that you can see the pure madness that’s happening on my desk. It is a direct reflection of the lack of organization that is taking place with me.  I have so many ideas, so many things I would like to do that it has overwhelmed me as you can see on my desk.

On the left, you can see this Cardmaker magazine I recently purchased as if I don’ t have enough magazines but I did like the articles on Copics so it might turn out to be useful.  On top of the magazines are some new American Crafts paper packs and halloween embellies that I bought at Target. Beside them are some really amazing stamps I bought a few weeks ago and still need to use them. In the middle of my desk is my Nook HD, which is my other love. I am currently listening to an audio book on  it called, “Unbroken”. I will review it once I am finished.

Beside my Nook you will see I just upgraded my Family Tree Maker software. Long story is I have been searching for months for my old discs and finally caved and bought the new version. Of course as soon as I ordered it, they announced a 2014 version.  Genealogy is another love of mine and I am planning on resuming my research.  However, I need to come up with a a schedule and stick with it.

The plate has some cinnamon raisin toast with yummy almond butter and a cup of Echinacea tea.

Now that I babbled on enough, I am going to go drink my tea and dig out my desk then come visit you!

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #224

Hi Everyone! Happy Wednesday.

Working on Project Life.

Working on Project Life.

Today another catch up round on Project Life.  I use a planner to document daily happenings to use for journaling in the album.  I just installed a really cool app on my iPhone called PicFrame that allows me to make photo collages with my images. I then import to my computer and you can see me playing around with one before I print it.  It helps me squeeze more photos and adds more visual interest.

My Project Life table.

My Project Life table.

I use this little table you see above to layout my project life next to my table because why of course I never have enough room on my table for the album. Because you know how crafters never have enough stuff, storage or space to put it all.

I spared you the rest of the room because I have partially unpacked from a weekend crop. I tend to take days to put everything away.

Well I am off to come visit your beautiful desks!

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #223

Hi everyone!  I hope you all are well. I missed last week due to school starting for the boys and me in search of some semblance of a routine. This week is their first full week and we are slowly finding our way to structure!

Busy desk!

Busy desk!

Now that the boys are back in school I am back to my work schedule to make products for my Etsy store. I ended up taking the summer off to enjoy my family. But I am ready to get back into all my craft supplies  to play and make stuff.

On my desk you can see that I am working on a Halloween card for the shop.  You can also see  a few images I need to color up for cards.  In the middle of the desk, is a big pile of birthday cards my son received at his birthday party this weekend. I am going to make some thank you cards to go along with his theme, “Monster’s University”.  I put them there to force me to make it happen sooner rather than later, but as you will see in the next photo I shoved them to the side so I could procrastinate….

Cutting up my new rubber stamps.

Cutting up my new rubber stamps.

Because everyone knows I must cut up my new rubber stamps instead of writing ‘thank you’ cards.  I don’t remember the proper etiquette but I will get them off within two weeks. I promise…

I found some new orthodics and some shoes and my feet feel like they are actually on the mend.  Before they felt so bad I had to pop Advil every six hours. Now I might take one during the day.  So I am hopeful.

Our weather here is quite strange, just barely 70 degrees F (shamefully I can’t convert for you over the pond) and today it is suppose to get into the mid 90s. I am a fall girl. I love everything about it so I wish this nonsense would end and get on with it.

Enough of my babbling. On to more interesting things—-your lovely desks!!

Ingredients for birthday card I just made for my son, Apollo.

Ingredients for birthday card I just made for my son, Apollo.

Hello Everyone!

First let me say thank you so much for all the love you lovely ladies left on my blog last week. It was the lift I need while dealing with this foot pain.  This week’s update: I am thinking of seeing a chiropractor for pain in my back and left side that might possibly be contributing to a miss alignment hence the foot problem. My doctor is leaning towards Planter Faciatis. My inserts (not custom orthodics) don’t seem to be working so we are going try another before committing to the hefty price for custom orthodics.  I made it to many desks last week but promise to get to anyone I missed this week.

So I have a hording tendency that doesn’t allow for me to part with my newest pretty stuff.  So today I actually broke the seal on two new paper packs I have (corrugate neutrals ad The Glitzy Pastels by DCWV).

I used my Silhouette to cut out the cute balloons.

Have I said lately how much I love my Silhouette?  Well, I do and the best part is that I haven’t even scratched the surface.  I made a easel card base. I really love cutting and scoring and prepping the base.  More will definitely be made.

You can click here to see my post that has the completed card.
