My June 2014 kit from Cocoa Daisy.

Hi Everyone!

I have been actually using my Cocoa daisy kits in my PL album. Even the stickers they use to seal the packaging is encouraging it says, “Go Be Creative”. I will be filming  a series soon to include on this blog of my PL for 2014 and my progress. I am playing catch up but making great progress and when I feel ready, I am going to record videos. june2014b

I love the orange color they included in this kit. I also like the mix of whimsy and more linear designs on the 3×4 and 4×6 cards.

june2014cThe aqua and navy are so pretty when you see them in person.  I also love these stickers with phrases. Perfect to put on top of a 4×6 photo or card.

june2014dYou all know I am just a softie when it comes to butterflies and this card was no exception. I like the 3×4 banner card. I can lay it over a photo. I am going to try to make my own with my Silhouette. I like the artsy feel with the splashes of color.

june2014eMore cards that inspire me to go design with my Silhouette. I love the paint splattered chipboard Hello and the golden hearts.

june2014gI like these weekday stickers. I wouldn’t have bought them myself but will definitely use them now that I have them.

june2014fThe funny thing is I bought a package of these sequins a while back and have already started using them  but I kept saying I wish I had bought two packs. Now I have them. I can’t help but smile when I look at them.  I love the colors and the different shapes.

They always include stamps designed by a guest designer. I like the little turtle. Very cute.

Tomorrow I am heading to Martha’s Vineyard, a small island off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts for four days vacation with Leao (delayed anniversary celebration). So I won’t be posting again until next week.

I hope you have a blessed day!

Project Life Cards

projectlifecards1

This year I am trying to find ways to be more economical my crafting. So I recently bought some 12 x 12 pads at Michael’s on sale for $11.99 each at Michael’s.  I decided to use them to make cards for Project Life and cards for my Etsy shop. This first pad of paper is Heidi Swapp and I chose it for the colors. I definitely can make some masculine cards for my shop.

The pad included a few 4×6 and 3×4 cards and then I cut regular sheets too. It contained two of each designs so I pulled out one sheet of each design and then began cutting 4×6 and 3×4 cards. Look how many cards I was able to create out of this pad. And then I still have over twenty-five 12×12 sheets to make cards.

projectlifecards3I am using one of the IRIS photo storage cases to store my Project Life cards. Above is the cards I cut from Heidi Swapp’s paper pack.

projectlifecards4Oh my, this second paper pack is just so pretty. It is even prettier in person. It is Recollections ‘Today, Tomorrow, Forever’ paper pack. It came with two sheets of cards too and look at the cool wood panel sheets.

projectlifecards5And here they are all cut up in the photo above.  Look at the butterflies. My friend Joan always teases me about my love of butterflies so she will know when she sees this post one of the reasons  I had to have this paper pack. The colors are so amazing.

projectlifecards6I love seeing the cards spread out on my desk but the container person I am also loves seeing them in the case after I finished cutting them.  I will then label them with the name of the paper pack and put them in my case.

If you have never done this before, wait until you see a sale on paper packs and buy one then sit down and cut out cards while watching TV and before you know it you will have a bunch of beautiful Project Life cards.

Have a blessed day!

Hello Project Life 2013!!

Well it is another year and we begin another round of Project Life. For those of you who have never tried, you should check it out.  Last year, I did fall behind and barely posted pages.  But this year I aim to improve.  I think I may post a few weeks at a time to make it easier on my schedule.

My Project LIfe 2013 cover!

This year I chose another We R Memory Keepers album. I tend to like the look and feel of them. I selected red because it just has the energy I feel for this year.

I also made a big decision to make my own journaling cards. I like the one’s Becky Higgins has made but I feel like I will be locked into their colors and some weeks, I have feel like they just don’t go well. I also thought it would be fun to use some of my stamps, washi tape and many other goodies that are crowding my craft room. So let ‘s see if  I make it through the year or if I cave and buy some cards. Perhaps I will mix some in with the ones I create. I am going to keep my options open and focus on fun and documenting because that is what it is all about.

I will post more pages soon some come on back with a cup of tea and relax.

Page Ingredients:

  • Simple Stories ‘Snap Polaroids’
  • Washi tape
  • Stamps (Cocoa Daisy exclusive)
  • Dear Lizzy Foam thickers ‘ Merry’
  • doily
  • Jillibean Soup Alphabeans ‘tart teal’
  • fiskars heart punch

Project Life – Week 27

Week 27

This is my first week that I completed immediately after the week concluded.  Rather than beat myself up, I am going to celebrate. I didn’t let myself get caught up in thinking it must be pretty and fuss over the look. I simply selected my photos, printed them then made my own journaling cards (I had to do a little something) and then stuck them in the album.  So it is doable if I let go. Something I have a hard time doing.

Week 27 – page one

This week was a fun week with family celebrating the 4th of July.  Lot’s of fun being together, playing games and sharing stories. I love that the boys will have these memories to bring forth in their lives.
