Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#7 (September Kit Wrap-up)

Hello Everyone!

Project life layout and cards made with the September kit.

Project life layout and cards made with the September kit.

Welcome to my blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft project.

Ok so my lesson I am learning is that I need to have better planning when it comes to challenging myself. My challenge for this blog series is to use my monthly kits creating various paper projects instead of hoarding it before the next kit arrives.  I realize now that I didn’t start this right when I received my September kit so I lost some time.  Which now will create that same lack of time for my October kit.  But I have decided that I am producing fun projects and normally I just look at the pretty supplies and store them in my containers. So I am making it happen.

I used a large portion of the supplies from the kit. I did not use everything but will keep them available for use with my October kit. One thing I don’t think I will use is the letter stickers from Studio Calico.  At least right now I can’t see them in any of my current projects.

I did enjoying using the kit mostly for card making but I am glad April helped me push myself to make a traditional scrapbook LO.

My first layout in a long time.

I know I could get one to two more layouts with the remaining kit paper. So I will add it to my October kit. See I made my own add-on without any added expense.

I definitely see me using up that gold paper really fast.  And the sticker element sheet I can use on-going in my Project Life. The colors do coordinate with the Octobe kit so I will definitely pull them in.

Tomorrow I will reveal the October kit and start cranking away since we are nearing the end of October and before you know it my November kit will make an appearance on my doorstep.

Have a blessed day and thank you for checking up on me.

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#6

Hello Everyone!

I used the September kit in my Project LIfe layout.

I hope you all had a great weekend! I had a really sweet one with family. My father-in-law’s birthday was this weekend and we hung out, watched football and played board games. Lots of fun memories.  I squeezed in a little crafting on Saturday but I always remind myself that family time comes first so in the end I had to put my supplies down and play with my boys.

This is the left side of the layout.

This is the left side of the layout.

I used letter stickers from an old kit for the title.  I used the 3×4 and 4×6 cards from the kit for my journaling.  I also added the logos from Panera and Barnes & Noble from a print out to ad more information about the locations for a few pictures.  I added an extra page protector sheet that is 6 x12 with two 6×6 pockets in between the two pages for this week’s layout for added photos and journaling.

I love sticking in an unexpected element like an additional page protector. The variety in sizes keeps the scrapbook interesting.

I moved the insert over so you can see the full right side of the layout. I again used cards from the kit. I also used two wooden elements from my stash -the camera and the arrow. I painted them with my Jenni Bowlin paint so they would pop.

I also was thrilled to use some leaves I had bought at Michael’s dollar bin and Joann’s a long time ago as an embellishment on this layout.

I used dollar bin accents and Jillibean Soup sticker to make fun accent.

So you see, I can use up my stash. I didn’t need to buy a thing. I have a few more things to complete and then I will reveal the October kit (Sorry April, not yet!).

Have a blessed day!

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#5

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my new blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft project.

My second card from the September kit

My second card from the September kit

Today I wanted to share my second card I made using the September kit. I used one of my stamps from Flourishes.  I love Flourishes stamps. They are so elegant and fun to color. I also used one of my cute border dies that shhh I have had for a year and hadn’t cracked the seal!! So I am now seeing the benefits of this challenge in other ares of my stash.  Great news for me.

I will be back on Monday with another project and hopefully a wrap up of my September kit so I can start planning and work on the October kit… No pressure right?

Have a fabulous weekend and keep crafting!!

Belinda
