The package

Ok I have to share something that happened that I think is very funny over winter break.  I shall set the scene:  I was on the was on the telephone with my sister-in-law talking and I heard the mailman going down our stairs. So I rushed to the door because I had several orders I somewhat patiently was waiting for arrival.  I see this huge box and start thinking of what I ordered this large.

I was so excited to receive a package but not sure what it was.

So I rush to the kitchen and open the box.

I ordered some stamps from Amazon and it was coming from a third party vendor.

I am not sure what happened but these three stamps could have been mailed to me in a mailer. Instead it arrived at my doorstep in this huge box.

Some perspective of how small these stamps are.

Such a waste of a very large box! I laughed so hard and then I had to take a picture of this madness.

MFT Guest Designer Contest – October 2012

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a Happy World Card Making day. I spent mine working on my very first contest entry.

The card I am sharing with you today is for the Guest Designer contest at My Favorite Things (MFT) using the MFTGUESTDT1012 sketch.

About a year ago I discovered the Pure Innnocence collection of My Favorite Things stamps at my LSS.  The quality of the impression was important for my coloring and the price was great. I purchased my first stamp and used my Copics to color the girl with brown skin. I loved the result and how easy I could paper pierce or color them.  My crafting girlfriends liked the way I changed her ethnicity with color.  I was hooked from that day forward.

This is my entry for the MFT Guest Designer Contest.

Isn’t she so cute set among the leaves?

I love using this Die-Namic because it is the perfect size for all of my cards and the edges are so elegant.  I paper pierced the little girl’s shirt and colored her and her pants with my Copics.  I used dimensional adhesive to raise the wagon for a 3D effect.  The Jillibean Soup label was just begging to be used with this stamp  so I kindly obliged. Twine was my go to instead of ribbon to compliment the theme. I just had to use the blossom gem since it echoed the blossoms in her shirt and who could resist a little bling?

I put the pop dots to make the wagon 3D

If have not visited MFT before, you should take a look because they sell a variety of fun products for all your crafting needs at great values.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #171

Working on my fall products for Belinda’s Crafts.

Hello friends!  First off, I want to say This week I am in bliss.  The boys are both in school and I am able to finally show up to my desk to create some goodies.  My sweet husband took this week’s photos of me so you can actually see me at work.  Or should I say how the mess is made that I often photograph and share with you weekly.  Now that I can have real office hours, I am making sure I dress in my nice clothes (not my comfy sweats) so that I am feeling in the mood. At the current time, I am on a dress kick so bare with me. I love clothes and never stopped wearing them because I am a stay at home mom.  Oh and you can see how short I cut my hair. Yes, a new hair cut (see prior post). I digress…Anyhow, I am working with lots of products for my fall product lines for my Etsy shop and I am really having fun pulling out really old products and mixing with new ones. I am using some old Hero Arts stamps  and mixing them with some new K and Company products.

I am so happy that I can work on my craft projects in the day.

Oh and I forgot to share last week my latest bargain…an OttLite! I have wanted to buy one for a long time and wanted to find the right deal before I took the plunge.  A dear friend told me about a great sale online and I took it to my local store and they matched it. So that is the lamp you see squeezed in between the madness that is on my desk.

Don’t you just love the Tim Holtz scissors?

Ok, way too much of me… I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

My new haircut!!

My new haircut!

Well let’s just say I have spent my entire blankety blank years with long hair. When I married my husband, eleven years ago, my hair reached my bottom. I remember it getting caught in the window in the car and needing to move it when I visited the ladies room!  I started cutting it a bit over the past years and I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted a new hairstyle. Something short and stylish.  I have never had short hair never mind hair above my shoulders but I went for it. And I have to say it’s fun. This year is going to be an adventure and my hair is yet another part of my adventure.
