Where am I?

messydesk

Hello my peeps! I meant to post a new tag yesterday but I have been out of commission for the past few days. Feeling much better now and ready to make some magic but when I went to my craft table this morning, this mess you see above was there to greet me.

Now, I could just dump it on the floor and start crafting (which occurs often) or actually put things away.  Most of the mess is stuff I was working on last week and now added to it are things I brought to the amazing crop I went to on Saturday. Instead of putting things away when I got home, I have pulled out some and left most of it piled or in the bags I carrried in my room.

So today instead of an interesting post, I thought I would let my hair down and show you the ugly in my room right now. Hoping it will inspire a good cleaning.

I will be back later this week with something more interesting things to share and hopefully 100% health.

Have a blessed day friends!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

daddyHappy Birthday Daddy! I still call him daddy since he passed away when I was 8 years old and I wasn’t calling him Dad yet.  So I guess I’m really a Daddy’s girl!  I have this picture of him, while he was in Germany, framed in my office. Pardon the blurriness. I just took a picture of the picture rather than scan it.  My mum kept him alive in my memory by sharing stories.  I try to share them with my boys from time to time so that they too might know a little about my amazing dad, who was taken too soon.

I hope he too, is watching over me and smiles when he sees the not one but two boys I have. My dad wanted some boys and he ended up with one boy and 5 girls, now how is that for luck?  But he never made us feel like that, he loved kids period and he would have had more if my mum didn’t put her foot down. I can’t imagine 6 kids in this day.  My two are plenty.

Happy Birthday Daddy, I love you!

Happy Mail!!! Cards from Sandy Allnock

sandy1

Who doesn’t like happy mail? I mean really?  I love when book or craft orders arrive on my doorstep.  There’s just something special about it.

Well, recently I sent a donation to Sandy Allnock for her sister who was running for political office. Sandy is one of my Copic Diva’s that I follow regularly.  Sandy said that for each donation she would color up an image and mail it to you. So I was more than happy to make a donation and thrilled to be able to receive one of her works of art.

This week, I received not one but two cards in the mail which was even more special.   I even kept the envelopes of proof that she sent me mail (such a fan.). Here are the two cards she sent me.  I actually have one of the images and now feel inspired to use it.  The pictures simply don’t do them justice.

sandy2OMG they are so beautiful. I am so inspired by her art. So I placed them on my shelf in my craft room so I can be inspired daily.  If you haven’t ever seen her work you must, and I stress the must check out Sandy’s website.  She also runs an amazing donation program for our US troops.  So take some time and explore her site.

I have them displayed in my craft room for inspiration. Sandy’s ability to not only color beautifully and create amazing backgrounds are what I continue to aspire to so having her work in my craft room really makes me happy.

Have a blessed day friends!

Pumpkins

apollopumpkin

Hello and Happy Monday!

I was having some internet issues this morning so I am a bit delayed in this post.  I hope you all had a fun Halloween. Luckily the weather was decent so we were able to take the boys out for tricks and treats.  Apollo was a Samurai and Nicholas was a wizard. I even dressed as a Huntress.

Apollo brought home his pumpkin he decorated at school on Friday. It’s now placed on a shelf in my craft room so we can enjoy it’s cuteness.

Every year the boys ask me when are we going to carve pumpkins. I say soon. So this year I let them pick mini pumpkins and I drew the design and Leao carved (they are a bit to young to handle a knife).

pumpkincarving1Apollo wanted a face and Nicholas wanted an N on his. I think they came out really cute.  I took the seeds and roasted them. I remember my mom doing that  when I was a little girl and I would love the smell of them roasting.

Well I am going to go grab some lunch. But I will be back tomorrow with my second installment of my new blog series, Tag Tuesday tomorrow.

Have a blessed day friends.
