12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 7 – Candy tags

day7_Sweet_tags1Good morning and welcome to day seven of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts! Wow today is such a craft or reading day. It’s pouring outside. We are suppose to have a Nor’easter today.  Fingers crossed the power doesn’t go out.  Only have to go out in it one more time later this afternoon to pick up my boys and that’s it, I’m staying put!

day7_Sweet_tags2One thing I do regularly is cruise around Silhouette store and Pinterest for inspiration and files. Last week, I came across this file. It’s meant to be a mini-scrapbook album.  I didn’t see that for me but what I did see is that I could reduce the size of the images and make them tags for the holidays.  They are suppose to be mint candies. I used some Reflections cardstock and cut them out.

day7_Sweet_tags3The file even came with the blank circle which was intended to be a photo mat for the album but turned out to be the perfect place for my To and From.  I could have used the Silhouette to write the words but I thought handwriting would make it more personal. I like looking at files and thinking of many ways to use them. It stretches my money and brain. I like the challenge of thinking of new possibilities.

Same plate prop as a few days ago.  In the rush, I didn’t grab anything new.

I hope you are home staying dry if it’s weather like mine and enjoying some craft time.

Have a blessed day!

12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 6 – All Warm and Cozy card

babyshowercrop1Good morning and welcome to day six of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts! I am so happy. I had an amazing weekend. I spent all day Saturday and evening with my amazing girlfriends for a crop and Baby shower for my friend Ashley.  Oh it was so much fun and the food…oh the food.. so much goodness. Two crock pots that were filled with our lunch and dinner meals.  We had music, balloons and tea with yummy desserts.  The best part of all was meeting baby Rosie.  Oh, when I held her it pushed that little happy button inside me and reminded me of how sweet the feel of a sleeping baby is in my arms. It was a cold rainy day so what better way then to spend it with close friends working on our craft projects.

babyshowercrop2For any of you that haven’t subscribed to this blog, you can do so by going to the right side of this screen and scroll down a bit. I encourage it because, as much I would like to say my posts will be up promptly at 9am, that’s not gonna happen all the time. But if you subscribe, you will get an email as soon as I post it.  Enough shameless promotions here and onto my card for today.

day6_All_Warm_Cozy1So today’s card is just what I need today. Very faint snow showers are occurring with 21 degree temp.  Yuck. So this card which I call ‘All Warm and Cozy’ is perfect for today.  I knew I had to have this stamp. It’s another Stampendous stamp and I stamped it and then colored it with my Copics and then mounted on a side folding landscape card base. I didn’t feel the need for pattern paper. I have a philosophy that if the image has a lot of detail coloring and requires more effort, then I don’t want to take the focus away from it with too much stuff.

day6_All_Warm_Cozy2This image reminds of this Inn I go to once a year with my girlfriends to work on our crafts and have ‘girl time’. They have a lot of fireplaces and you can sit down and look out the window or read your book.  So perhaps that’s another reason this stamp made its way into my shopping cart.

day6_All_Warm_Cozy3I used Wink of Stella on the fireplace to make it look like a crackling fire.  I zoomed in and hope you can see it on the photo.  I simply love this image and plan on using it for more projects.  I used the same wreath prop as before to display the card. I hope you enjoyed this post and I need to go get cracking on another project so I will have something for day 7!

Have a blessed day friends!

12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 5 – Snowman card

day5_Snowman1Good morning and welcome to day five of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts! Today I bring you two snowman cards.  This is a new Stampendous stamp called Snowman Woodland. It comes with a scene and everything but I chose to crop the snowman to make him look like he is looking through a window.

day5_Snowman2Fort the first card I used Echo Park’s Tis the Season paper and the second one I used Crate Paper’s Peppermint.  I enjoyed using pink which is not the typical holiday color but after I put it together I really like it. I bought a bunch of glitter paper on sale weeks back at Michaels’ with my friend Joan and Cathy with the intention of using it with my Silhouette.  So I cut the window out of glitter paper on my Silhouette. I use my Silhouette for so much. It has truly been one of the best purchases I have made. Endless possibilities.

day5_Snowman3Here is a picture of them side by side. Don’t you love the pink? I love it? It just might not go out to anyone.  Oh did I just type that? I meant, careful consideration will be taken before mailing it off.

day5_Snowman4For the inside I used strips of the coordinating paper. I used Stampin Up cardstock for the base.

Props today…just my shelfs in my craft room and then the last two photos I put them on the carpet.

Tomorrow I am going to an all day crop with my girlfriends and going to meet my dear friend’s new baby Rosie. So I will have more crafting time which I feel I can use this time of year when the holiday starts to whip me around like a rag doll.

Have a blessed weekend and I will be back on Monday with day 6 of my  12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts.

12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 4 – Special Delivery

day4_Mrs_Santa1Good afternoon and welcome to day four of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts! I apologize for the delay but for the last few days I have been having internet access problems so today’s post is late.

Today I bring you another card I created.  I used a digi from Tiddly Inks.  I love these stamps. She has a bunch and she is having a great sale on both clear and digi stamps so take a peek.  I used my Silhouette to create the shape of the box and used the print and cut feature so that my image was printed directly on the cardstock and then cut in the shape you see. Then I colored up the image with my copics.

day4_Mrs_Santa2Ok and let’s talk a minute about paper hoarders, yes, I am guilty of charge and I find that I especially like to hoard my Christmas papers like my friend Ashley. She and I vow each year that we have enough and won’t buy anymore and what? They seem to jump in our carts and home they come. Total sucker for pretty paper especially pretty Christmas paper. Enough of that rant. That said, this paper I used for this card is one of those highly hoarded by me.  It is called Nordic Pines by Bazzill Basics. Oh my goodness, all the paper in this pad are gorgeous. I mean it, every sheet is gorgeous. So I had a hard time cutting a sheet (baby steps).  I matted it on a cream cardstock and used Stampin Up paper for the card base. I decided to use some kraft envelopes in my stash since they match this paper so nicely.

day4_Mrs_Santa3My props were holiday table runners and a little tree I usually put on a shelf in the living room.

day4_Mrs_Santa4I put matching cream cardstock inside for the person to write their greetings since the card has a black base. I also used small pieces of coordinating paper attached to the corners of the paper for added interest.

I hope you like this card as much as I do. Even if I did have to cut a piece of my prized stash!!

Sending blessings your way!

Belinda
