30-Day Coloring Challenge: Day 9 – Spring blessings

challenge_graphic-4-revised

Hello! I can’t believe I managed to fit coloring in today.  I am really happy I did and each day, I know this will become a habit that will really take me to the next level of crafting. Day 9 – check!

day9aThis is a digital image from A Day For Daisies stamps. They have the most whimsical stamps that are just flat out dreamy to color.  This one I have been wanting to color and never got around to it. My  color palette was inspired by a paper pad from the dollar bin at Target.

day9bWhenever I have pretty paper that I use with dies or my Silhouette, I take the scraps and punch a bunch of butterflies, hearts and little flowers and put them in little bags. The butterflies came in handy for this card. I added some Queen&Co pearls to the top of the butterflies for more shine.

Definitely will be making another one of these.

Happy coloring! See you tomorrow!

30-Day Coloring Challenge: Day 7 & 8 – Botanical Notes

challenge_graphic-4-revised
Hello Everyone! I’m back with my day 7 and 8 of the coloring challenge. I had every intention of fitting in at least 5 minutes yesterday to color and truth be told, it didn’t happen. I just had a really full day of appointments and then we went as a family yesterday afternoon to go pick out Apollo’s new glasses. By the time we got home, ate dinner, picked out clothes for the next day, I fell into bed.

day7aThis is all I got done yesterday – just stamped the image.  This stamp is called Botanical Notes by Penny Black. I have had it longer than I would like to tell and just broke the seal to try it out.  I see so many possibilities with it and can’t wait to try them with this stamp. It’s a good size stamp too.

day8Tonight I was determined to get back on the bus and color. Sometimes when I fall off, I don’t return for a long while but having a challenge with others and posting them on the blog and my Instagram, helps to keep me on track.

I would like to play more with the butterflies coloring. I definitely will be using this stamp more. This challenge is not only helping me commit to improving my craft but also to open all the stamps I have been hoarding for some time now.  Very excited for the possibilities.

Good night!

30-Day Coloring Challenge: Day 6: A Cup of Thanks

challenge_graphic-4-revisedToday was a bit of a struggle to get to my coloring. Appointments and errands filled a large part of my day and then homework help when the boys came home. So I had to squeeze this in before dinner time.

day5

This is an old stamp from Flourishes. They are no longer in business but they had the most beautiful stamps. Again I love teacups so thought in honor of all the cups I have had this winter, I might color up a little cup of tea.  I was rushing so much that  I didn’t color tea in the cup!  But if it was my cup that’s how mine would look (almost empty).

I used washi tape on this quick card and realized that it wrinkled on the bottom. Well that just gives this card some character right?

I’m just happy that although not my best, I did squeeze in 20 minutes of coloring today.

Have fun coloring!

Project Life: Week five

projectlifelogo1

I started posting these pages late so that I would always be ahead in their creation. But I have slowed down a bit so a quick catch up is happening so I can continue to post these weekly with ease.

week5aI was on an aqua and pink phase again with this two-page spread for week five. I really love how it came out. Some weeks, I am alright with the final result but this week was great. I  think it captured a lot of what was going on for us that week.

week5bI captured some fun in the snow. Leao sledding with the boys in the yard is so much fun to look at.  I captured the volume of snow we had in our yard. Even the town shrubs that spell out the name, looked pretty all covered in snow.  I documented the ups and downs. For example, I took the photo of Apollo when he had the stomach virus that was going around his school.  I even documented my One Little Word album.

week5cI think I showed these two photos of Nicholas and Apollo playing in the snow already but now you can see them in my layout for Project Life. I used some stickers to add some fun phrases. I used Heidi Swaps’ page protector that had the Live it Up! in gold on it. I thought it was fitting for the fun happenings.

week5dI love when I can catch Nicholas on film when he is having fun and smiling. He doesn’t like me to take his photo so this one means a lot to me.

week5fApollo is still easy going when it comes to me taking his photo. Thank goodness his snow suit still fit from last year because he loves to lay down in the snow.

week5eThe snow was high enough for them to have some fun sliding in our yard.

Overall a great week, aside from Apollo being sick. After I completed this layout I realized I forgot to include something very important – The Patriots’ winning the Superbowl!  I love football so I always try to incorporate it somewhere in my album. The problem is that I don’t want to add an insert to this week with the Patriot’s win. Eventhough it technically occured on this week, I am thinking about including it in the next week. I have newspaper clippings I think I might reference and put them at the end of the album. Still on the fence with this.

Anyway, I hope you finding time to fit some crafting into your day, because we can all use a little creative play!

I’ll be back next week with week 6!
