Fun outing with family: Seeing the Patriot’s play at Gillette Stadium!

Leao and I snuggling up a bit before the football game began.

In wasn’t until about 9 years ago that I began watching football. My mom loved to watch football and was a big New England Patriot’s fan.  Leao surprised me two years ago and took me to my first Patriot’s game at the Gillette Stadium.  I couldn’t stop talking about it.

My ticket

My ticket and it’s going into my scrapbook!

I was more than excited when Leao bought tickets for his brother, dad and I to go to the game.  His dad is a big football fan and both he and my brother–in-law had never been to a game before.  I was happy for many reasons but one big one is that Leao was able to provide such a great memory for his dad who is getting older.  Being able to create these special memories with family is what I like most and I know Leao will always feel happy that he did this.

It was great to see all the  aspects of the game live as opposed to on television.  Like how the players come out early to stretch and then run drills.  It was fun to see them interact and some of them even dancing to the music that the stadium played. Then they go back inside to wait to be announced for all of us and the TV watchers to see.

Seeing them upclose was so much fun.

Seeing them up close was so much fun.

It was a cold day but the sights and sounds of the stadium and the crowd keep your mind elsewhere.

The first half  the Patriot’s played poorly but as they have been doing, the very last minute they pulled out a win.  So a sweet ending to a very frustrating game. Win or lose I was so happy to be there and will definitely do it again.

I hope to make it a ritual to attend at least one game a year.  I am grateful for the opportunity we had to spend with family and look forward to more in the future.

Have a blessed day!

Cyber deals! New Copics!

My new Copics markers.

My new Copics markers.

I buy most of my Copic markers online from one store: Carpe Diem Store.  They have the best prices and if you order a bunch you can have free shipping.  So when they sent me an email with markers on sale for $4.19 each I almost cried.

Most people search for big electronics on Black Friday and I search for craft deals.  I had put my purchasing of markers on hold for a while.  But the deal was too good to pass on and I really needed to get more colors to add to my collection.

They arrived today and I always add them to my color chart to see how far I have to go to complete the set.  I like looking at them before I put them in my carrying case. It’s a little ritual.

I look forward to using them on my future projects.

Happy deal hunting!

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #235

Hi Everyone! I have been away a few weeks and have missed you.  I miss all that crafty goodness you all display on your desks that make me want to play in my craft room even more.

The base for the bookmarks.

The base for the bookmarks.

I have an annual book club holiday party to attend tonight.  We all bring a book or two that are wrapped and meet at a local restaurant. We have a book swap and play trivia for prizes. Last year, I won a Christmas Cactus and  I was so thrilled I think I told everyone the next day (obviously I am still bragging!).  So I decided to put my Silhouette to work and created some bookmarks  for each member.

Book quotes

Book quotes

I used the’ print and cut’ feature to create the quote I placed on each book mark. The funny part is that my toner on my printer needs replacing so when I printed the quotes they started out green and then faded to aqua towards the end of each quote. The aqua matches perfectly and it looks I was trying for some gradient effect.  So I didn’t have to toss them.  I love that.

I was also pleased I didn’t have to by anything to make these little gifts for my friends.  I even shopped my ribbon stash and found the ribbons to attach to each.  Love when that happens.

Another thing on my desk or should I say my little side table is my Project Life catch up process. I am almost finished with the printing of the photos and will go in to add embellishments.

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

I hope you all have a blessed day.

Blooming beauty!

Christmas cactus

Christmas cactus

I have always wanted to buy a Christmas cactus. My father-in-law has an amazingly large one and my mother always had them in our home.  So last year when I won this cute one at my book-club holiday party. I was thrilled.  It was in bloom and I brought it home with pride.  It has been in my craft room ever since and this week it bloomed.  Which means I must be doing something right.

I hope I can win another plant at our party tonight. Maybe even start a collection!

Have a blessed day!
