What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #560

on my desk…

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well. I am just getting back into the swing of things. Last week was my boys’ school break so I spent part of the week running them around to activities with friends and part of the time being Nurse Mom to my oldest, who was recovering from his wisdom teeth surgery. So I am finally back at my craft table and it feels good. The weather is really strange. It has been in the 50s and this time of year we are supposed to have snow and highs only in the 30s. It’s frightening how much our weather has changed.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

New craft haul!

A new haul of craft goodies arrived on Monday of this week and I can’t stop looking at them. So today I decided to test them out with my inks. I like to test out my stamps when I first get them to see how well they perform. I bought two sets of stamps to use in my reading journal. I am absolutely loving them. They are a perfect size and are very versatile.

Stamping up my new stamps.

I know you can see in the photo but I heat embossed them in gold and oo la la, I really love it!

Testing different inks.

This next set will be used on cards. I love the bubble-script font. It reminds me of middle school when we used to cover our books with paperbags and use our best cursive bubble letters to write our names (and sometimes the names of the boys we liked in the inside cover!).

This last one that I got to play with has so many sentiments to use on a variety of cards. I think I will look for one of my small circle dies and use that to cut a bunch out for future use.

Lovely sentiment stamps.

I wanted to share some coloring pages I did over the weekend while crafting with my friends but I have to run to pick up the boys from school. They have early release today. So maybe I can include them next time. I hope you all are well and I will be by this afternoon to see what you have been up to.

  2. The weather certainly is strange at the moment, we’ve had no Winter & Spring will soon be here. What a treat for you those stamp sets are, sentiments are such an important part of our creativity. Your so good to stamp them out when you first get them, I at times can not get past the looking at them stage. Have fun using them, they all look so useful.
Hope your Son is recovering well from the wisdom teeth surgery btw?

  3. I’ve woken to rain – again! thismorning… had enough now, even though no fear of flooding where I am. love the sets of stamps – have fun with them! Helen #2

  4. Loving the new stamps Belinda. Good idea to try them out with different inks. Such a great variety of styles too. Happy bleated WOYWW Sarah #3

  5. Those are great new stamps – I love the books a lot, they’re perfect for your journal. And those sentiments will be forever in use I reckon!
    Hugs LLJ 10 xx

  6. Sorry I’m late! Loving the new stamps, don’t they stamp clean..no wonder you’re loving the embossed images too. I think the varieties of silicone stamps are the reason that I miss rubber – quality of image can be so variable. Anyway…enjoy these new ones, they are all lovely, I haven’t heard of the Ink Blot SHop before. As for the weather, it’s such an obvious change isn’t it, things here are entirely different too. I can count on one hand the number of cold frost days we’ve had this winter. We seem only to have rain which is devastating some of our towns and villages. Horrible. Kept well with all this dashing about!
