on my desk…
Hello crafty ladies! It’s that time again! For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.
First off, I have to confess that these photos were taken last night. I knew today I wouldn’t have much time and I knew my desk wasn’t going to change in the morning. So pardon the lighting.
Anyway, on with the snoop…On the right side of my desk is a non-fiction book I am reading for Non-fiction November. I have several other books lined up to read this month. I am thoroughly enjoying this one so far. It is called, “Diamond Doris” and it is about Doris Payne, the true story of the world’s most notorious jewel thief! Now, I never heard about her but then perhaps I am not in the know when it comes to jewelry thiefs! I first saw this book on Hoopla and immediately put the physical book on hold at my library. The three things that really fascinate me and made me pick up this book is that this thief is a female, she is black and she is still alive and I don’t believe in jail! I just have to hear this story!
Sorry the book nerd took over for a minute. Back to my desk, there is also a list I wrote of the remaining Dewert Inktense and Prismacolor pencils I need to get to complete each set. I have slowly been collecting them. Once I knew I enjoyed using them, I began the process of getting them at the best prices online. You can also see my new Nuvo spatulas I purchased for my paste. I will show you next week what I plan on doing with them on some holiday cards. You can also see my laptop in the purple sleeve.
In the center you can see what’s been distracting me from making my holiday cards! I am really enjoying coloring in this coloring book and can’t wait to finish this one. I am using my Prismacolors on this page.
Look at this clutter fest!! Piles of projects, pencils I was using on the coloring book, new snowflake dies for some holiday cards. the little white houses, I plan on creating cute winter scenes inside them. I am going to an all-day craft time with my girlfriends on Saturday so I plan to work on these as well as some holiday cards.
I have been on a purple kick in the craft room and I thought why not some new nail polish. I mean, a girl has to have what she has to have! I plan on painting them with these lovelies later this week. The colors incase you are interested are Sally Hanson’s Purplexed and OPI’s Do You Lilac It? I love nail polish names. They are so funny. The picture isn’t doing them justice but they are so pretty in person. I can’t wait to see what they look like. I will paint the OPI on all except both ring fingers and then paint Purplexed on the ring fingers.
I managed to make all my rounds last week so let’s see if I can do it again. Have a wonderful day ladies!!
Belinda
That picture is looking great!! I find the OPI nail colours are particularly funny (and punny). Can’t wait to get mine done on Friday!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #19
Lol at the nail polish names, almost as daft as Tim Holtz! I’m on a purple kick at the moment too. Your colouring is really beautiful, I do admire the shading very much.
Hugs LLJ 12 xx
well my Christmas cards have a purple vibe too! must be a WOYWW thing! Helen #4
Hi Belinda. Great colouring – that page is looking really good. What names for those nail polishes. I can’t remember the last time I had nail polish on…some time in my teens, I think?! Oh dear! Enjoy your craft day on Saturday.
Take care. God bless.

Your colouring is rather lovely and I imagine very relaxing to do. No wonder you’re delaying the mammoth task of holiday cards for a little while longer!

Aw, I love the nail varnish colours…Purplexed..great name huh!! I love the colouring Belinda, boy, you’re a dab hand with a Prisma pencil – and so patient. Those little white houses are going to be lovely…please don’t forget to show and tell…even if we have to wait until after Christmas!
Hi Belinda, I love nail varnish but I rarely wear it. Far too many inky things to ruin them. Your colouring is wonderful, it’s wonderful when we find comfort in a brand. I have the full set of inktense pencils they are much loved. My preference is Caran D’ache Luminance over Prisma but they both work so well.
Love those little white houses, such a sweet size. Happy WoywW Tracey #11
Back again Belinda, regarding your comment on mine regarding Faber Castelle Polychromo’s have a selection of basic colours which I use for nature work they are fabulous but I always fall back to Caran D’Ache, I have used them for decades and the white is the best I have ever used. The feel of the pencil feels more substantial to me but as I said it is personal preference. It is definitely worth trying them out so you can make your own choice, for me it has been an investment that has paid off for me, like a faithful friend … Have a super weekend & Happy Crafting x
Busy desk and the colouring book is lovely. Wishing you a happy woyww, Angela x11x
What a fabulous colouring page Belinda. I am still umming and erring about which more expensive colours to invest in. I am leaning towards the Faber-Castell Polychromos and their Albrecht Durer water colour pencils as you can get 120 different colours rather than the 72 in the Derwent sets. They will be a very considered purchase though. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #5
Gorgeous colouring and a lovely busy desk! Sorry for the late visit this week. Happy belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#14)
