What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #537

my desk…

Hello friends! It’s that time again! For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

Not much crafting today. I had an amazing day with my crafty girlfriends on Saturday so today I am playing catch up in my bullet journals. I have one for work and life and one as a book journal where I put all things related to the books I read. I am always trying to tweak the processes so that I don’t get behind but sometimes it’s just inevitable. Oh and I scored on those Faber Castell Gelatos from Michaels. They were on clearance for a fraction of the cost so since I have never used them it seemed like a good time to buy some.

Key for my bullet journal

I am trying out a new key or my bullet journal. I use many but there are a few more that I would like to use. Time will tell if it’s the right fit for me. I try to keep things loose and don’t get to caught up because then I won’t want to use it.

Book I plan on reading.

I am going to see this author next month so I thought I better read her book before I ask her to sign it. It’s the first book in an older cozy mystery. As the weather is getting cooler and the daylight shorter, I love sinking into a cozy mystery. So I’m all in for this one!

I absolutely love my book journal. It has book reviews of books that I’ve read, lists of books I would like to read and things I learn along the way. I feel this is equally important. My kids will be able to look back and see what I read and how I felt about them.

I have a section where I keep track of new releases that I am excited to get my hands on.

I use old letter stickers, washi tape and old ephemera from my scrapbooking days. I am grateful to use up old supplies.

Well that’s all for me. My sister is coming to visit tomorrow so I also need to tidy up our guest room that somehow is a magnet for miscellaneous clutter! My boys also have a half day of school so I will be running out in about an hour and a half to pick them up. Not super exciting stuff to show you but it’s what’s happening here today.

  1. What a great idea! A book journal. I don’t know why I never thought of that. I may have to steal your idea. Hee Hee. Have a wonderful week!

  2. I do so admire those who can keep up with journals, you always seem so organised. I have never been a diary/journal keeper as I know that I just wouldn’t keep them up. Hope you have fun with your sister!

    • Oh don’t be fooled. I like organization but I am not always so organized. A book journal is fun because it isn’t a daily. You write in it when you read a book. So that makes it more ideal because I am not consistant daily journaler.

  3. Hi Belinda, wow thats so organised! Full of admiration for your journals. I’d manage to keep up for a day, maybe two, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

  6. Nothing better than crafting with a friend although we generally spend too much time chatting and a lot less crafting Lol! Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x10x

  8. What a great journal Belinda, such a good idea. I am currently rereading the final trilogy in the Thomas Covenant series by Stephen Donaldson. I have read the first and second trilogies multiple times, but it is only the second time that round for the third trilogy and in fact I will be reading the last book in the series for the first time shortly. My husband kindly bought it so I wouldn’t have to wait after getting through the second book. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #3

  9. And that’s the essence of WOYWW Belinda…how it is today! Love the light on your desk. I cant get my head around more than one journal at a time, so I think you’re doing well. I keep a garden journal of sorts…I’m trying to keep track of what we’ve planted and where it is and how to prune or look after it, But your idea of a Book Journal is fab…It’s just the sort of thing I’d love to learn through to find out about you!

  10. Belinda, I am in awe of someone so organised! A record of all the books you read, that’s amazing, wish I could do that, more than once I have bought a book in a charity shop, got it home and parked it with another copy of he same book.
Thanks for visiting my desk and the nice comments.
