What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #154

Auguri a tutte le mamme!  (Happy Mother’s Day to all moms!) I had a wonderful Mother’s day weekend this past week. The weather actually cooperated and we were able to spend much of the weekend outside.  Leao must have talked with the boys because they took me to breakfast for Mom’s day and they were so good the whole time I kept wondering where my kids were.  I hope you all had a great week and weekend.
I can not believe it is Wednesday again. Time flies way too fast.   Let’s guess what my weather is like yet again?  Yup, rain, rain, gloom….Grrrr….
I want to say thanks to everyone who posted last week. I had so much fun last week peeking at as many desks as I could.  I was so inspired by Michelle Webbs art journals that I am thinking about creating my own. I look forward to playing some more today and filling myself with more inspiration.

Well last week, I told you my Sister came to visit last week to help me with the boys while Leao was away. I had such a nice time while she was here.  The kids had a blast and I had the help and the laughter I desperately needed.  (Carol Norbey from Arizona – I am glad to report, I did not need to use the peepad but laughed so hard when I read your post.). My sister left on Friday and I stood at the door like a little baby and sadly watched her drive off. She is such an amazing woman.

By the way the ‘m’ on my laptop is refusing to cooperate (possibly due to cookie crumbs) so if I misspell a word and it doesn’t make any sense then just add an ‘m’ to it!

Well today I am working on more cards. This one I took pictures in process for added interest.

Thank you card

All the elements of the card.

I need more thank you cards for my shop so I thought there is no time like the present.  I snatched up my new Zinnia stamps, copics, twine and went to town.  I love Zinnias in my garden so I knew I had to have this stamp. It’s fun to color too.

thank you card

Added some dimension

I have always loved twine on other people’s cards and I just bought a whole bunch to play with.  I love the colors and texture it adds to the cards. I can’t wait to try it again. I am probably the last crafter to use it but I am definately liking it.

Thank you card

Adding more dimension with the doily

I sprayed the doily and loved the color and look of it so much that I had to find a way to add it to the card.

Thank you card

The completed card

Well I am loving playing with the spray and twine so I think I will play some more.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Belinda

  2. Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog. Love the way you have photos to show the stages of your card, really nice idea. Glad to read that you had a fab week with your sis. Take care Tracey ±31

  3. Belinda what a nice surprise whilst reading your WOYWW that you mentioned me! So pleased you liked my journal pages, it’s always great getting feedback, you made my day! Now then, lets get back to your workdesk, you’ve got a fabulous card on the go there, the colours are really warm and happy. I like it very much. Is that a lump of fudge or an eraser under your spotty bowl? I think fudge is probably an essential item to keep the crafter’s imagination running overtime. I know I’m a big fan of it! lol Happy WOYWW. Michelle xx #122

  4. Beautiful cards. I love how you colored them in. #130

Hi Belinda I’m a newbie WOYWW. I love your colour choices for your cards, sooo vibrant. And yes I to spy fudge! Or not? but I’m sorry to say here in the UK it’s sunny, sunny sunny dare I say. Oh dear it will rain tomorrow now I’e said the word sunny!

  7. Back again Belinda! I’ve used the pencils to colour the image in this time, I usually water colour with the DI’s but that’s a digi image so I had to use the pencils. I used the inks to make a grungy background though.

  8. I really like your finished card! And you are definitely not the last to start using the twine…I just got some myself in the last few weeks but I don’t think I’ve used any of it yet! 🙂

  9. Lovely card, like the spray paint idea. Thanks for popping by my blog, glad I could provide some inspiration 🙂 Marie #74

  10. Oh your card came together beautifully, love that zinnia. No, you’re not the.ast to use twine, we’re about equal with that! I like a trend, but am always behind!

  11. Hello!

Your card is lovely – the twine is perfect with the button! Wishing you a happy day!

    Hugs,

    Barbara Diane
