What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #153

Hello everyone! Oh it’s a gloomy morning here. We need the rain but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. My sweet husband is in San Fracisco for work until Saturday morning. Leaving me with my two boys (one is 8 one is 4)  who love to fight on and off and get into things.  This is day two of Leao’s absence and they are fightin’ this morning about who will lay down on which side of the bed for morning cartoons.  Being a smart one, I called for reinforcements to keep me sane while Leao’s away – my sister is coming up today to stay through Friday to help with the boys. I am happy she is coming because she is one of the few people on earth that can make me laugh until I come close to peeing my panties.  She’s that funny.

The rain this morning may delay her arrival. But it will give me time to sort out dinner plans so we don’t have to rush later on.

I want to thank all the ladies that left kind words at my site last week. I don’t think that feeling of connecting with others on my site, will ever get old.

So I almost didn’t participate this week because I don’t have any completed projects to share but I realize the process is also fun to see.

Lately I have been collecting and learning different templates for cardmaking.

I will share the two I am currently playing with today:

  • Shadow box Card
Shadowbox card

Template for shadowbox card

I am playing around with the template debating whether to purchase the die or trace and score them as I did here.  By the way,  I still love my Martha Stewarts scoring system. It’s so much fun to do.

More tracing of the template

I am leaning towards forking over the money and buying the die. But in the meantime, I will trace a few to play with.

  • The Tri Shutter Card

More scoring. I see a lot of potential cards for this template. It’s fun to make.

More details added to the base.

Here I played around with different pattern papers to build on the base. I used the fiscars border punch for added interest.  I also played around with spraying doilies.  I am not sure if I am going to use it on this card but love the way the color saturated it. I might spray the white flowers I have and use them on it.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

  11. Belinda, I just want to say thank you so much for your comment. I hope that in all the times of posting things on my blog, that I can share my love of creating by inspiring someone. It has made my day that you have felt this way about my craft room and art journaling. You should just take the bull by the horns and start one, it’s very liberating, and no right or wrong ways of doing it. It will be fabulous, you’re really creative. Take care, Michelle xx #177
